End of April and the season looks to be really interesting. Matt Kemp had the Greatest April Ever (http://espn.go.com/mlb/blog/_/name/stark_jayson/id/7873462/the-greatest-april-ever), Derek Jeter is hitting almost .400 at age 37, every team in the AL EAST finished the month at .500 or above. Nats in first, WTF.
Kuroda bounces a pitch and it ends up saving the game for the Yanks (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=28033182&content_id=21050005&c_id=nyy)
I'm going to Yankee Stadium May 11, which might coincide with Andy Pettitte's first start. If his first start is the next day, a whole bunch of us might be in big trouble at our friend's wedding. Game start time=reception start time.
Anyone else out there following?

Matt Kemp's April wasn't the greatest ever, at least twice before people had an April with similar stats, Walker in the 90s and Perez in the 70s, a couple of pitchers have had ridiculous April's as well. So far this year will be more known for its terrible starts then its good ones. Pujols and the Marlins in particular leap to mind.
Warm weather is coming though, going to be another fun season to watch.

When D-Wright was hitting .600 the Mets were unstoppable. For some reason (laziness? spite?) he's only hitting like .400 now, and we're barely .500. Frankly I'm pretty disappointed. In related news, Ike Davis is hitting 1 for 340 (which seems impossible considering he's only had about 80 at bats, but trust me on this one) and Wright is on track for a career high in walks.

I have watched probably an average of 7 innings of every Twins game this year. They are 6-16.
It is fucking killing me. God I love baseball.

I'm a big Yankees fan. I think I've watched or listened to part or all of every game this year so far. I'm loving Jeter's offense, not loving the Yankees' starting pitching. When I first heard about Pettitte coming back, I thought "What?!" Now, he can't get here soon enough. Oh, and that 9-0 comeback against the Red Sox? Hilarious.
That play by Kuroda last night was awesome. It's not often you see a game decided by nailing a runner at home on a wild pitch.

Dude, come on. These PC meetup people would've totally given me shit by now if I had that accent. Rob would've said something menacing but homoerotic about it and I would've had to reveal to the PC that he wears monogrammed button-ups and tool jeans. On Saturday nights.
I only Minnesota talk one word: bag. And I totally can't figure out how the fuck I'm saying it. So fuck you, you betcha!

No kidding: 4 2-run home runs and a double... 18 total bases, a new record for a single game on the bases total. Holy crap. Wonder if Texas will pony up for him at the end of the season...

Says the guy who wears flannel shirts with pearl buttons.. I'm not going to say Jay has that accent, but he might.
I'm looking forward to going to yankee stadium for a few games this year.

The Hamels-Harper incident, and the way it played out, is my favorite baseball moment in my memory.

With his injury and substance abuse history the Rangers should keep it in the 3-5 year range.
Hamilton had more total bases in this game than Pujols has had all year. Let's go Albert

Had a Lobel steak sandwich at Yankee Stadium tonight. Best ballpark sandwich I've ever eaten. Try it with the horse radish, too.
Cart location is up the third base line

I went to this game tonight with a Mariners fan who insisted on keeping the scorebook throughout--dude brought his own. He's a work friend and I had no idea. At a bar in the village and he's still got the fucking book. True old man fan.
Also: fucking twins.

Thank God the Cardinals were smart enough to not offer Pujols 250+ million dollars. I think they'll be JUST fine without him.

Johan Santana threw the first Met's no hitter ever last night.
My friend and I might try to to a major league/minor league double header in a few weeks
