THIRD ANNUAL SPRING FLING: CONQUEST, COSTUMES AND CARNIVAL!
Come join in the fun at this year’s Spring Fling in Wehnimer’s Landing! The House of Paupers, Helden Hall, Ord an Dragon and the Order of Lorekeepers invite you to join in the festivities. This 3-day tour-de-force is open to everyone and filled with combat, costumes, contests, food-on-a stick, raffles and surprises. Commencing at 8:00 P.M. Elven on the Day of the Huntress, the 4th day of Ivastaen and concluding at 8:00 P.M. Restday, the 6th of Ivastaen (Friday, May 4 to Sunday, May 6).
The Spring Fling begins with a two-day TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS hosted at Helden Hall's arena by the House of Paupers, Ord an Dragon and Helden Hall beginning at 8:00 P.M. Elven, the Day of the Huntress and ending with final rounds beginning at 5:00 P.M. Elven on Feastday (Friday, May 4 to Saturday, May 5). There are challenges for all skill levels and a prize of one million silvers to the The Grand Champion of the Tournament. Prizes will also be awarded to the winner of each skill-based division and to the winner of the free-for-all melee.
Competitors are encouraged to sign up in advance. On site sign-ups will begin an hour before the start of the Tournament at 7:00 P.M. Elven at the arena. In addition, you may sign up in advance by sending a scroll to Paupers official Play.net forum. Tournament rules will be posted in advance on the official forum.
A MASQUERADE BALL will be held following the completion of the Tournament at 11:00 P.M. Elven on Feastday, the 5th of Ivastean (Saturday, May 5), in Paupers’ tent near the festival grounds. Guests are encouraged to join in the spirit of celebration by wearing masks and enter the contests for best masks and costume. In addition to the dancing, feasting and contests, the winners of the Tournament of Champions will be announced and prizes awarded.
On Restday, the 6th of Ivastean (Sunday, May 6) beginning at 3:00 P.M. Elven, The Order of Lorekeepers joins with the House of Paupers to present the first Spring Fling CARNIVAL. There will be something for everyone at the Carnival! Games of chance and skill, a fortuneteller, a kissing booth, a dunk tank, wandering players and even food on sticks for the daring.
In the spirit of the festivities, there will be several contests held during the Carnival (all times in Elven):
At 3:15 P.M. there will be a PET TRICK CONTEST on the Carnival stage. Bring your pet, any pet! Could be a companion, could be a kitten, could be a painted pet rock! Or how about a sock puppet?! Just be ready to put it through its paces to impress the judges!
At 5:00 P.M. a MUMMERS CHALLENGE at the Carnival. Feast entertainers and buskers of all types including jugglers, masked actors, dancers, minstrels, acrobats, conjurers, sword-dancers, folk singers and fire-eaters are invited to perform and compete for prizes and acclaim on the Carnival stage.
At 7:00 P.M. the BATTLE OF THE BARKERS will round out the scheduled stage contests. Is your tongue made of silver? Is your "bark" worse than your bite? Do you want to talk some unsuspecting folk into throwing their money at you to gander at some freaks? Well then, we have the event for you! The Battle Of The Barkers, where we intend to brawl with babble, and separate the glib from the garrulous is the place for you!
