Illusions partner

Hey all, I'm looking for someone who wants to work on Illusions with me. I'm literally just starting out with them so unless you don't mind helping me catch up it would probably be better if you are just starting too. IM me at Xzean or catch me in game.

Weekends are best. I am around friday, sat nights and sometimes during the day on sundays. I am a guildmaster so reps working with me count for double. Perhaps others that are farther into illusions than you are can help or even other guild masters.

I am normally around the Landing and Icemule towns.

I wasn't speaking towards anyone in particular there. Guild training prior to level 20 is designed such that it just isn't an efficient means of getting things done.

A jungle atmosphere pervades this dimly lit garden, and only a few random rays of light intrude here and there from windows on the south and west walls. Vines creep up the walls and across the ceiling, trailing tendrils as if waiting to ensnare the unwary. Crickets chirp noisily somewhere deep under the abundant plant life. A trail winds through the foliage, and several benches are unobtrusively placed to provide restful spots for quiet contemplation. You also see an errant shadow and a refreshment cart with some stuff on it.

I tanked my INF when i set my stats after my 30...does INF have an impact on learning illusions?...I noticed Dryal mention he tanked his INF is why I ask..

Disipline and Influence do effect how easy or difficult it is to make an illusion. But there are more than these two variables used to determine the over all success rate.
Spells like presence, disarm enhancement and skill perception also factor into making an illusion. Your level and the rank you have obtained in the illusions guild skill will also add to this over all factor.
I have an alt sorcerer that is level 16 and has 10 ranks in illusions and 5 ranks of general alchemy already. If you know what things you can change that do not rely on your stats, its not impossible to do illusions.
Mostly its time consuming and its also difficult to find people to work with.

My sorcerer is currently on Teras Isle, but I'm more than willing to come to the Landing to help with illusions so long as there's someone willing to learn. I'm available during the day and would love to park her in the guild to be used and abused for training. She's a guild master so they would go fairly quickly.

I'll be back friday night. Still waiting for school to end and move into a new job. I hope by the end of the month that things will be settled so I can have a little bit more spare time to be in game. I got lots of things to work on, and now its just a countdown to the 11th.

As a note Q is in the Nations, so if there are any sorcerer's around there that would like help with illusions never hesitate to ask on LNet. I offer periodically but I play during the day and often times find no interest at all. I am always glad to help though.

This is something that is perfect to do while resting after hunts. It can easily be scripted. What are the GM's take on prime concerning scripting of illusion practice? I remember I got busted for this before. First time, no warning, they removed ranks from my illusion skill. IMO thats a bit harsh.

And anyways I was more "watching tv scripting" and not "leaving it on overnight" scripting, so I was pretty mad that they punished me for this. Do they really expect us to sit there going through each rep by hand for the million hours it takes to master illusoins? Or have they relaxed about this and allow a bit of light scripting when practicing ultra repetitive mind numbing things like illlusion practice?

scripting is different than afk scripting. You can script illusions all you want as long as you're attentive to your screen. I script all illusions teaching and attempt to have conversations with whoever I'm working with to ease the boredom. I made many of my closest sorcerer friends doing this.

another trick is to watch tv on the net. You can size your browser to cover most of your screen but leave some space to watch your screen scroll.

anyway, I'm still in mule, but won't be around much until after Memorial Day weekend.

They changed the service verb so it will stay set when you log off, hopefully more people will use that now. Not sure who your character is or when you play, but mule has many illusions masters willing to help, see the older posts.
