I'm supposed to go to a concert with a friend tomorrow, but I don't really want to go.
How do I get out of it?
The story is basically: If I go I'll spend the night at her house, but the last time I spent the night at her house, her and her husband fought like wet dogs and it freaked me out to the point I thought about walking the 40some miles home.

I don't have a car.
My family's all up in MN.
I might just fake sick. I do feel shitty for some reason. Probably from thinking about how to get out of this.

Or you could tell the truth and not be a liar...... Lying is a good way to lose friends.

there are exceptions, but how cool is it to go up to your friend and say that their griping and fighting scares you and you don't wanna particularly be there at the moment, i'm sure that makes your friends feel really great, as well as yourself for telling them.

Yeesh - Lalana and Vesi (was it Vesi who got drunk with a "friend" and played Boggle?) have friends who aren't capable of behaving like civilized adults, now you have a friend who gets into screaming matches with her spouse...
WTF happened to the human species while I was looking the other way?
Tell the girl the truth, Maimara. Tell her nicely (I KNOW you have it in you to do it - trust in the Force and all that! ) but definitely tell her. And tell her that if she can get you back to YOUR place after the concert, game on, let's have fun. If she can't do that, or if other arrangements can't be made, oh well - it was a great idea, but it ain't gonna happen and let's get together some time when I won't be stuck going to your place while your hubby's home.

I'm embarassed to say it's Journey. The only reason I'm going is because she has 4 tickets and they'd go to waste if I didn't. I like live music, and I want to check out Wolf Trap (where they're playing.)

YOU'RE NOT GOING TO JOURNEY!!!!!!!! I'd fight your friends husband for her just to get to see journey ( not a personal fav, but hey they're decent, and MUSIC = Life)

They didn't even go at it that bad, I just don't deal well with conflict *at all* and it totally freaked me out. It's a weird thing with me. they weren't even shouting, he was just talking but in reading his body language I got very very scared.

Hopefully when I show up at work at 8 AM the next day the stink of pot and beer won't be on me anymore.
Then again, if it is, I'd probably have a better time at work? LOL

reminds me of when I saw aerosmith 2 years ago. I was high from just breathing the air by the time the 2nd song was over.

First show I EVER went to was Aerosmith. I had no IDEA what pot even was, and I was 13, sitting with my friend (my dad sent us in alone). I came out of there so high... and I didn't even know why or how. LOL

ROFL
I saw aerosmith with one of my good friends and his very sheltered girlfriend. during the show, my friend and I looked at each other and were like 'dude, I smell weed.' then his chick looked at us and said 'that's what weed smells like?'
pause...
'oh my god! my uncle smokes marijuana!'

No, I didn't. The horse blanket is very much visible in the right side of the picture.
On my bed is:
A bunch of clothes, a curtain, 12-pack of Mountain Dew: Code Red, katana, short sword, pillow, horse blanket.

I have a horse blanket too.
I also sleep with blankets and stuffed animals.
But seeing as how I don't have a penis attached to me, it's okay.

Gee... you sure have a way with words.
The whole human race is going to hell in a handbasket because two people can't control their liquor and a husband and wife argue! Who's letting these dregs of humanity live anyway?
