I guess they gotta make up the money that the last Drougthman's cost them eh.
Screw it. I'll go to one. How much are they again?

Nah. They are testing how to properly gauge micro transaction type events in Gemstone I bet you.
DR has events that are 15 bucks, are literally 30-45mins long by the time you start to completion and offer the chance 1 pick ONE item from a list posted, along with gaining "Incidental Loot" by looking IN, ON, BEHIND, or UNDER things.
I bet you they will eventually be fine tuning the prize pool for DM, and start holding DM events now and then this way

Seems pretty profitable, less work than eg type events and a good amount of coin for a limited amount of overhead

At least until people stop signing up because the items become so common the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

As far as I'm concerned, a decent silver drain mechanism is good enough. Having a monthly Droughtmans would be a little crazy, though. The merchant threads get pretty dense.
What would be cool is if you could get RPAs (in potion form or something) as prizes.

They just need to start giving out more services in boxes. But they won't because GM time is the precious. I would love to see something as simple as winning a crumbly to non ticket. I am pretty sure I would pay 3m to make some of my crumbly enhansives not so.

Duhhh, they're too busy implementing all the cool new shit you see ALL the time! Didn't you see that staff list? It's all hands on deck, partner.

Except that Droughtman's is the opposite of a siler drain: adds silvers AND items at the same time. This is partly why pricing went so bonkers during the first run: you had 1000 people gaining on average over a million silvers apiece, (probably closer to 2), and gaining an item apiece, and that's not even counting the betting fiasco, which meant even more silvers.
If they were to make the betting what it should have been (paramutual) then we could talk about silver drain maybe. As it stands the betting is rediculous. They need someone on staff who understands sports betting. THEN they could have some silver drain at the same time.

I find it funny that once again they feel the need to throw tickets up for sale right away(although not as fast as last time). You'd think they would have learned a lesson last time, but I guess not. I didn't know dragon realms did these types of events so often, but with that being solomon's main focus, I guess it isnt surprising to see them migrate over to gemstone.
I feel kinda mixed, I'm glad for the new and old stuff re-entering the game, but feel like all it is is a quick cash grab from all of us who play the game.

Yeah, what I meant was "as long as they have a silver drain mechanism to compensate." Not exactly clear on my part. Droughtman's is definitely the exact opposite of silver drain. The betting is the right idea with poor implementation. I'm talking about things like dragon bones, merchant auctions, digging games, and so on.

If they wanted a silver drain, they'd take all those items and hold an auction. When was the last real GM auction for quasi-high end stuff, last September? It's been a while

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily say DR has events like EVERY month to buy etc.
But I just attended my first pay event in DR for $15 bucks. Said event had an hour time limit to complete. The group I was in was one of those types that rush thru it for the end prize alone and we had completed the very last step/puzzle in like 30mins.
Otherwise you can have the option of forming a "private group run" in which case most of these people take more of their time and look for incidental prizes too. Incidental prizes are prizes you can find by looking Under, on, in, and behind stuff in the quest.
But as far as I know, in this month there is 2 paid quests running and I think another paid quest is coming next month.
They do recycle the events it seems too, but I could be wrong since our version of krakiipedia has the event in it, with different dates with different loot.
I'm not sure how I personally feel about the whole pay automatic quest event like I had just did, but if I do more I am definitely doing it in a private group to better my loot and experience.
The last run, I could hardly read anything since the leader was running everywhere and killing shit so fast. The price isn't any different though luckily than say buying an expansion/event ticket in an MMO but if the price were to ever rise I'd think twice.
Hell, a paid quest in DR right now is literally 6 hours long, and it's only priced at 25 dollars.

You missed out then. EG '09 this was a service. I got like 4 done. You should ask for it to return. I can always find more enhancives to make perm.

And this event is soldout.. Not bad for 1 Per account, and no accounts that ran last run, all Premie.
