I hear a lot about 2 handed weapons and polearms lately. I'm a blade swinging wizard but I still have my trusty 5x lightly damage weighted falchion.

What's the advantages to going to one of these shieldless attacks? I've never done much with either of them. Do you find that you get hit frequently?

Maybe you could even post a sample of a hunt Anticor? :?:

Like I said just brainstorming, not sure if it's worth doing or not, especially since I accidentally squandered my fix skills before I knew what the hell it was and I just got done waiting out a huge wait for changing some other big things about Amneus.

That was helpful, I don't know that it's worth the change over, maybe when I get another FIXSKILLS I'll give 2 handers a chance or even aimed weapons. I do pretty well though, mabye I'll post one of my hunts for you to see....

This is with all the wizard spells, level 33, OHE. I don't use my stone skin, and during this hunt I had rubbed a small statue. Which is usually the only way I have any extra defense, so if you ever see me and you have a small statue to sell I'm the guy :) I might not have quite the pizazz but I'm pretty lethal.

You're standing at one end of a huge domed cavern that could easily swallow Wehnimer's Landing with elbow room to spare. The ceiling curves up smoothly, suggesting that the cavern was formed as a bubble that solidified. A ledge runs around to the north and southeast. About three manheights below your feet is a pool of molten rock, a deep orange webwork of cracks around solid chunks of black crust. You also see a firephantom.

Lush vegetation grows thick in this spot, bushes and flowers and trees and ferns crowding each other for space. Pushing your way through the growth, you discover a gash in the mountainside. You aren't certain, but you imagine you see a faint ruddy glow at the opening. The smell of sulphur is very strong, and you think long and hard about entering.

The breeze blowing from the west is merely cool, rather than icy cold, as it is farther east around the mountain. The modwirs are numerous here, and some broadleaved bushes clump around their trunks. Owls hidden in the modwir needles above your head call out their eternal question in the night.

Two side paths branch off of the main trail here, running east and west around the mountain. The north-south path is steeper, but is wider and more deeply worn even so. A cold wind blows in from the east, and you see signs of snow glimmering in the moonlight on the eastern slopes. The western face seems a bit warmer -- the deeper shadows in that direction might be grass.

The western face seems a bit warmer -- the deeper shadows in that direction might be grass.

You're near the mouth of a dark, rounded tunnel leading down into the mountain. Hot air rushes up the tunnel and out the opening, ruffling through your hair and clothes on the way. The grey rock that forms the tunnel looks like solidified sponge, as though millions of tiny bubbles had formed and hardened. You also see a firephantom.

The width of this tunnel varies along its length, from barely wide enough to crawl through, to about twice your height, but its shape is always a circle, or very near. The rough stone makes it easy to find footing on the slope, but scrapes your hands, and anything else that might touch it or brush against it. The deep end of the tunnel is definitely warmer.

The walls and ceiling of this room curve gently around, blending into each other without any sharp corners or straight lines. It's hot enough in here that you wish you could do with a bit less clothing, like maybe a loincloth. Four round tunnels lead out of here in different directions.

You're standing at one end of a huge domed cavern that could easily swallow Wehnimer's Landing with elbow room to spare. The ceiling curves up smoothly, suggesting that the cavern was formed as a bubble that solidified. A ledge runs around to the north and southeast. About three manheights below your feet is a pool of molten rock, a deep orange webwork of cracks around solid chunks of black crust.

Few things:

Hunting it looks like you bring the pain just fine I see no problem with it.

Use 909 more, it should be second nature to 506 then 909.

Change the order of your signs, at least the defensive ones. If you do like me and you have all three macro'd or you type them put shields as the first one. This way if something comes in swinging you're putting up the 20 DS first. It's a life saver if you get the "Sorry you can only blah blah" 20 10 5 put them in that order.

Other than that I think you'll do fine. There's an older wizard I know that's OHE and shield and she does just fine.

right on, I do have them on a macro. I'll switch the order of them, that's a super good suggestion. Thanks man. I tend to only use tremors if there's more than one critter in the room. I'm hoping my CM will make me pretty good at aiming my ambush shots before too long.
