Yes, it contains a black ora piece of jewelry

an enruned witchwood box
In the witchwood box you see an enruned black ora ring
The black metal is etched with strange, spidery runes

So I'm told that once you remove the ring from the box, you're stuck with it.

I'm am most certainly not the spidery type, so I'd really like to trade this for something that I would enjoy. I'll start it with a high BO, hoping for a trade, but I will reduce the BO to 75m if there is nothing useful to me.

Based on earlier black ora pieces, it has a random effect that either takes 1 spirit point away from you, or gives you up to 1/3 of your mana, even exceeding your maximum.

Sold

Looking for a trade that involves a db item, or brigandine that is higher than HCP. There are probably other things I would find useful, but I can't think of them at the moment.

The black ora jewelry is damn cool. Makes me wish my characters weren't pure elves in CoL. Randomly getting back 1/3 of 500 mana would be sick.

It isn't 1/3rd of max, it is a flat 50.

Actually, I take that back... MINE restores a flat 50. Droughtman said something else earlier, and seeing as the character I have it on no longer has a lot of mana (He has like 45 mana total) it gives 50(Which is more than he has on his own).

Nordred would probably be the best to chime in on that.

Yes, you would need to check back with what Nordred said around March of 2011 to better understand the effect.

I can comfortably say it will always give atleast 50 mana.

Should we have played a bidding game to get there?

God. I fucking hated the similar item my rogue had. No idea why the previous owner would have worn it instead of selling it for this kind of coin.

It would actually be quite useful to me if I hunted more other than the fact that it would twist my pure soul. The spirit drain would be inconsequential for me, but the mana would be, well 'like manna from heaven.'

In that case, the new owner of this ring should, every time it converts spirit to mana, yell out "Slurp, slurp, slurp! Like mana from heaven!" and then go about his business.

I always thought of manna as being more of a solid.

The answer is clearly mana smoothies.

Would you like to add spirit regen powder for an extra 150 silvers? Or some adrenal surge goo* for the same? (Pending patent held by Msconstrew.)

How often do these random actions occur?

Only when frozen.

Not often.
I hated the effect so was pleased that it happened only every 3 hours or more.

What I hated about it is when it drains a spirit it just looks like you exposed your CoLness. Wait, no, I liked it when people would cringe at me.

So it was a random effect that could not be timed? It happens to the frequency of every 3 years? It also permanently attunes?

Why are these so expensive? Are there ambient scripts?

Asha

I'm not sure what you mean but I can from experience say that the spirit drain or mana rush only happened after a 3 hour mark.
I don't remember ambient scripts but it is zested to look awesome when rubbed or tapped etc.

I have some black Ora stuff sitting in my locker. I'd be willing to chip in

Do you still own Malaekai? Or know of where he went?

I put it on because it was the first one released and I was curious. At the time it also allowed you to understand all languages and guild speak, but that was a bug that sadly got zapped.

One of these days someone is going to look at you and see..

A Black ora ring, a black ora bracelet, a black ora wristcuff, a black ora armband, a black ora anklet, a black ora eyebrow ring, a black ora nose-ring, a black ora earring...

Well, I actually just have a bracelet one worn. The choker I gave to Erie and band to Leloo.
