Hi all, I realize you folks are all trying to win this thing too, so you may not want to share your tricks, but I'm hoping I can get a little basic insight into what to expect. I've never seen this thing run and I have no clue what I'm even supposed to do. From what I gather, we get dropped off into a room with lots of twisty turning tunnels (maybe that's the wrong game), but anyway, we have to run around looking for a way out?

Along the way there are ropes and we're supposed to pull them and money drops, or we get killed?

So then what, we're carrying around 100k? That doesn't make any sense. And what about these blockers, they're trying to kill us?

Can we attack them back?

Can the other players try to kill me?

Is the point of killing me just that it makes me waste time?

Should I spell up? Should I strip down to stay light? Do I need to carry anything? Is there anything to pick up other than the coins?

And there's a gold key, what does it unlock? Is that the goal, find the key and unlock the door? What determines the winner, the most coins, or the first one to find the key?

I understand some people have scripts, what do they do? I'd probably put together some hotkeys or such, but I don't know what to hotkey.

Anyone feeling generous and want to enlighten me?

You don't have any actual silvers on you. It accrues and you get a note at the end of the match.

You can attack them back

Anyone can kill anyone.

Usually only the blockers are trying to kill you. Because it is fun for them and their job.

You can spell up to I think level 10 spells in the ready room. They stay on, because you never really die. You don't need to remove anything, when you enter the ready room it strips you automatically. The ready room has a bunch of 0x items you can equip yourself with.

The gold key unlocks the white door which you need to go through to win.

Most scripts run around pulling ropes, grabbing keys, and upon finding the gold key look for the white door.

Runners have no offensive spells. But all the runners do get a wand to wave at people that will freeze them, so you may want to set up a macro key or something for that. I always highlighted the names of the blockers as soon as they were announced so I'd know who to run from faster.

I also learned if you can't find a good weapon in the starting room, you can ask for it. If the GM behind the run is cool they will generate it for you.

I had a brawler in there and they had just crappy ass weapons. I asked for a fist scythe and the GM gave me two of them. I was then able to kill people.

OK, so as a cleric I don't need to concern myself with trying to attack anyone, basically only squares have this option. I can use the wand to slow other folks down, but other than that just worry about pulling on ropes, picking up keys and finding the white door. This is similar to pennant chase?

Don't even bother with attacking anyone. Just run around and snatch keys and pull ropes.
