I know this isn't the right folder really...but there isn't a LOST folder and it is a high-end valuable...
There was a 2x ora claid dropped in the small park about an hour ago (through the wonders of Drag and Drop mechanics) completely by accident. Said claid was in a sheath. It is a very close friend of mine that it happened to and I would HOPE that someone in the community would know who found it AND/OR help in getting it returned either to me or to my friend. He's very upset.
It was a gold-tipped ora claidmore with vruul skin wrapped around the hilt.
Let me know if you see someone with it or someone trying to sell it.
Reward offered for it's return OR info leading to it's return.

Please help Ruty, he's a good guy. I would be sickened if I had lost this. I hope you recover it soon.

You can assist and get a GM Referral. They'll usually tell you if it's been janitor'd or not. They're usually pretty helpful with that kind of stuff.

The assist process is going right now.
Thanks for the responses so far.
He hadn't had the chance to register it on his character, I literally just gave it to him like 30 minutes before.
I don't know how much help they'll be...
I'd like to think there are still good people out there and we can get it back to him.
Leads to a question - If it's registered on me...it has to be re-registered by the next person right? It drops registration when it changes hands?

I'm sure if said person makes a huge deal of it they might replace it for him. It's happened before. Good luck with it
gms will give you 1 freebie on a lost item

If you registered it before you gave it to him, the lack of his registration shouldn't matter. Good people will return this sort of thing. Hopefully it was one of those who picked it up.
I lost a translucent spidersilk cloak about a month or two ago and it was registered as well as marked and GM's wouldnt do a think about it but offer the 1 time only item restoration

Question - If it had just been bonded to, that makes it to where who ever picks it up can't actually use it right?
Would the GM be able to tell that I'm bonded to it?
Would it pop up in a song? Wouldn't the only way to get that issue fixed by from a GM?

So just a question, if the GMs get you an item back that was say dropped due to curse, but didn't tell you it was your "one time item recovery" does it count as your one time? Basically, do they officially tell you that's your one time or not?

unless they use someone that can remove the bond, then it can be used again. I am assuming that its a paladin bond.

You're probably safe if they didn't mention it to you

There is no "one time recovery" policy. A cool GM who is pretty sympathetic might hook you up. Odds are they'll just tell you to remember the wise words of the Thrak. (Even if there's something unusual like broken drag mechanics between certain rooms).
I think you have a much better chance of a player returning it than a GM doing anything about it.

If the GM gives you any crap - just threaten to quit - I'm sure by now they've received a memo or two:

History has proven that they are totally unconcerned with one person threatening to quit over losing something, suffering a nerf, or over a verbal spat with staff.
If you read that thread, the posts from staff pretty much validate that there would be little sympathy.

Somehow, miraculously, the claid was recovered by the GM.
Thanks for the help and concern gentlemen.
Although, to clarify...the GM made another I believe. I think there is still someone out there with the same claid who never returned it.

I think a GM has given something back to me at least twice in the last 6 years. Once it was something valuable and once it was just something neat. Registered, not registered, whatever--you should always ASSIST and give it a shot.
