We're going to start holding monthly raffles on www.gsauctions.com (http://www.gsauctions.com). The June Raffle (http://www.gsauctions.com/raffle.asp) is for a 4x permablessed rularon-edged laen broadsword. For full raffle information visit http://www.gsauctions.com/raffle.asp.

100 raffle tickets are available with a maximum of 4 tickets per person. Raffle tickets will be on sale until 06/30/2004 10 PM EST, at which point we'll spin the wheel in Beldrin's gaming hall for the winning ticket number. The drawing will happen regardless of whether all the tickets have been sold. An email will be sent out prior to the drawing informing ticket holders of the drawing time and location. Another email will be sent out after the drawing informing ticket holders of the winning ticket number. We'll also post the game log of the drawing on the GSIV Auction Place (http://www.gsauctions.com). A running list of all tickets sold, item stats, etc. is available at http://www.gsauctions.com/raffle.asp.

To purchase a ticket contact Izzaac or Sergey in game or send an email to sales@gsauctions.com. You can also send an instant message via AIM, MSN, or Yahoo to GSAuctionPlace to reach Izzaac. Send an instant message via AIM to GSIVMerchant to contact Sergey.

Just under 24 hours until we draw the winning ticket. 51 tickets have been sold and 49 tickets are still available, so your chances of buying the winning ticket are pretty high.

The drawing will happen after 10 PM EST on Wednesday night, regardless of how many tickets are sold. For full raffle information visit http://www.gsauctions.com/raffle.asp.

Ok, since the raffle will take place whether all the tickets are bought or not.... Assuming that the winning number is not one that was picked, what happens? Are you going to spin the wheel again or does that mean the house wins?

I'll keep spinning until we hit a winning number. We won't be leaving Beldrin's until we've got a winner.

Raffle Item: a rularon-edged laen broadsword
Item Stats: 4x, permablessed, weighs 17 lbs, and has a forging of 75/160.

What is so special about this broadsword to warrant 100 tickets at 250k each?

It may be permablessed (which is nice and all) but is still only 4x.

I can see 250k each if it was a 8x+ permablessed.

.

Seems like a rip-off to me...

hows it a rip off if you win a 20m item for 250k?

Atlanteax, you also have to consider that not all people have less than a million silver and are willing to pay 250k for an expensive item. Just because it's not good for a poor, low-level person doesn't make it a rip-off.

i will be running a few raffles with tickets ranging 10-50k also.

It wouldn't be, how the heck is it worth 20m. I'm obviously missing something.

To me, 4x permablessed with not-so-great breakage does not = 20m.

My previous post was seeking an explaination of WHY it is set for 250k ticket. What makes it so special?

That's a heck a lot of "sentimental value" priced in then...

Seriously, wtf are you talking about? When you can find another 4x, ICE age, permablessed two-hander, then you have the right to speak. But, as you can't, the price that's set is very much fair.

Permablessed weapons have always been rare and thus expensive.

ICE-aged weapons are now more rare.. thus increasing their value.

Add the two together and you come out at around 20 million silvers.

Would I pay it? Hell no. Give me a vultite falchion and a bless from an old cleric and I'm good to go. But some people WOULD pay it..

Try swinging a 17 pound sword around with one hand... and you tell me.

Oh snap, I thought it was a greatsword.

I now agree with Atlanteax. Broadswords have a -20mil value effect.

I could've sworn I remember that 5x golvern permablessed katar off the Spitfire selling for like 60 million and I thought that was a lot.

I'm sure anyone buying tickets for the weapon will guage their own value of it. After all, what kind of GS player will buy stuff ignorantly right?

Probably one handed, but the material make it damnly heavy.

I remember a +8 greatsword that was perma-blessed and the guy, a certain P something was trying to sell it at a high price such as 12m.

Man, everytime he was on the net and trying his luck, there was around 10 complaints about his too hungry attitude.

Guy surely has it still:lol:

p.s. Perma-blessed weapon sux, no flares

Regardless... the winner of the raffle will indeed be better off than the 250K cost of the ticket. Let's say it's worth only half of what Sergey claims...

10 million > 250 thousand

Skirmisher

Yes, I would sell it myself cause its too damned heavy, but if all i spent was 250K i'd be way in the black on the deal.
