ruby-inlaid formal elven longbow

The surface has been burnished with a dark gold varnish, giving the longbow an antiquated and ceremonial look. Intricate scrollwork has been carved across the face of the limbs, revealing the natural reddish-gold color of ruic which contrasts with the gilded exterior. Rubies rest flush with the surface inside the shallows where each scroll curls to termination. While the scrollwork had appeared haphazard, the rubies line up perfectly down the face of the limbs and pull the pattern together. Two spherical depressions adorn the formal elven longbow, approximately the size and shape of a small gem. The chambers currently hold a swirling cardinal red orb, and a rich sunset orange orb.
