Got a almost brand-new one (bought it on 4-06-2012). Took it home, played with it over the weekend, and realized 10 inches is too big (that's what she said) so I want to downgrade to a 7.1 inch one. Took it back to Gamestop and stupid me didn't realize they don't take returns for opened products. Sooo...
$475 for an almost brand-new Asus Transformer Prime. Comes with original packaging + receipt (if you want it).
My dad bought a Motorola Xoom with the 10 inch screen and I have a rooted Nook color which is 7. I would have bought a 10 inch all things being equal, but since then I've realized using and handling the 7 inch is just much easier and more satisfying than the big 10 incher.

I have my 5 inch Samsung Galaxy S2, but it's too small for school. Plus all my professors think I'm fucking around when I'm actually taking notes or reading an article. I played with the Transformer Prime a few weeks ago and loved it. I was looking at getting one yesterday, but didn't pull the trigger.
Also, in case you don't check your PMs, Spiffy, I'll take it.

The Transformer Prime is a fucking beast of a machine. It's just too big for what I need. I got rid of my phone (got a cheap $14.99 pay per minute phone) because I never talk on it so I need something a little more portable for my data needs.

Don't forget the galaxy s3 is coming out in 2-3 months. Plus they have that galaxy tablet now.

I've been very tempted by the Transformer Prime, seems to be a very solid machine. I ended up getting a Kindle Fire a few days ago as a stopgap, because I know I want a Tablet/Converter once Win8 comes out, and then I'll want to spend money, so $200 to keep me from looking at high end tablets seems fair.
I got my MLB.tv subscription last night too, it's awesome.
I don't have a whole lot of use for it yet, but I'm still messing around with it.

I was thinking about that Asus + Google Nexus tablet rumored to be a 7 inch in a few months. Or, maybe the Toshiba Excite 7 inch. Unfortunately, they're all months away. I'm living with this little 2005 $14.99 flip phone I got from Best Buy with a pay-per-usage plan. I used the shit out of data on my old smartphone but never talked so I figured I'd get a tablet. Well, now I'm out a tablet with a shitty phone.
NEEDZ MOAR GOOD SEVEN INCHERS.

I got that cover you recommended. So far, so good. Just waiting on the keyboard to arrive.

That cover looked pretty sweet, but it looked pretty expensive too. All the little accessories add up fast.
WRoss, what's your main usage of it, just casual internet browsing or do you have a specific use in mind?

I'm at the point in school where I don't read textbooks anymore. All my readings are from scholarly journals. Mainly, it's going to be used at my "binder". I'll also keep all my research in it.

Also, I got that cover on, but now I can't get it off. I need to take it off so I can use the keyboard. Any help here?
Edit: Damn, I should have read the amazon reviews.

Did you take the plastic things off? I didn't the first time. Got annoying.

After reading all the reviews, I'm going to try and return it. If not, it's going on e-bay.

I haven't had scuffs, but I did have difficulty with on/off and shifting.

Taking it off is actually easy, once I found instructions. Hold it so the cover is facing to your right. Hold the cover, pull down, then out. TADA!

Huh. Definitely less awkward than top down. I feel Midvale School for the Gifted. That aside, I haven't had the other issues they describe, but I'm not sure the use I use it for (propped up to display without typing) is what most people do now.
