And I sung to all of them, sadly I have no manipulation lore yet. Stats for those who might randomly be interested (out of 50 for each):

Diamonds:
18 maxed: 154,020 for 8557 avg.
28 orbs: 184,875 for 6603 avg.
4 exploded

Emeralds:
1 mage rechargeable
27 maxed: 232,101 for 8596 avg.
19 orbs: 120,972 for 6367 avg.
4 exploded

Amethysts:
33 maxed: 255,831 for 7752 avg.
13 orbs: 74,950 for 5765 avg.
4 exploded

Total redeemable silvers: 1.023mil

No clue about the value of the mage rechargeable emerald nor the value of three 50 count jars. From what I see, the only way to make your money back on this time consuming endeavor is to turn around and resell the orbs at significantly higher value, which is quite possible. Even with 101 ranks of manipulation lore, you're not going to reach the break even amount unless you also have some significant INF bonus and fairly significant Trading ranks. The issue isn't the gems you max out so much as the value of the gems in which you orb, since they aren't generally maxed every time. You lose a negligible amount to explosions on the bigger gems. I find I blow up more low to mid grade gems.

Not trying to hurt the market or anything. It's simply a matter of not doing this to make money unless you market the orbs for resale. I got them for my cleric, mostly. Mission accomplished there! Thanks again for the gems. Will definitely hit you up for some repeat business.

Some different results than Galenok's, perhaps this bard's training was more suited to the task. I have a feeling those lores make a big difference, though I really haven't a clue about singing to gems:

Sang to 50 wyrm's-tooth amethysts: 33 orb's created plus 16 purified gems worth between 10500 and 11100. One gem exploded.
