Below is a mildly cleaned up log of the brief meeting I held for those who were around to attend. Questions, you know how to find me.
You say, "Ok, so basically I'm going to quickly go over the MHO, some Goals, Rules, events and other explanations."
>
Middian nods.
>
Middian bristles with excitement!
>
You say, "First, I'll talk about the goals of the MHO."
>
Middian turns an inquisitive ear towards you.
>
You say, "If at anytime you have a question too, just stop me."
>
You say, "So with that being said..."
>
Middian barks loudly in agreement.
>
You say, "Goals: Our goals are to promote growth and further "rogue awareness" within the community, while offering various services to both the public as well as enlisted members. Our events will be intended to appeal to everyone and the public, while I do intend on hosting some "In House Only" events as well. A perk for our members."
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "Simple enough..Next up, events."
>
You say, "Events: Some of our public events will include but not be limited to dice gambling games, dart games, free lockpicking services, public guild nights for ALL rogues, various auctions and raffles of "Black Market or Stolen Goods", RP oriented events such as Mystery Dinner games, Assassin's tag, and CLUE!/Who Did it?! games."
>
You exclaim, "Some more in house only events I intend to also include for our members is pick pocketing contests, lockpicking contests, more auctions, friendly dueling with gambling on the side, and various other events and awards/perks!"
>
Middian wrings his hands.
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "Next up, is a good idea Oweodry came up with, which I thought we should include."
>
You say, "Chapters: Clearly not every rogue will consider our main town of operations "home". So, to help alleviate some of this I have decided with input from Oweodry that we will form a Chapter for each town and appoint 1 leader for each Chapter. This Chapter leader does have to reside almost exclusively in the town he is applying for leadership in. While this doesn't mean he's not allowed to leave his town to visit others, since we know it's ineviteable due to hunting grounds and RP, he must have strong love and foundation for the town he or she likes to call home."
>
You say, "Each Chapter leader is responsible for their town base of operations. Meaning things such as helping with recruitment, events and so forth. For instance, if a Chapter leader wishes to hold an event in his town, it is up to him ot come up with the idea and bring it to me. I will complete all the neccessary paperwork and make things are good to go on the event, and when the time comes for the event to occur, the Chapter leader will be the one in charge and will be running his event."
>
You say, "I feel that making this idea happen, will be great to help us branch out through the various towns while still remaining as a whole MHO in itself and giving others a sense of accomplishment in their own towns."
>
Middian nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "I do like that indeed."
>
Middian raspily says, "Like guild leaders of each town."
>
You ask, "Any questions or input about the chapters?"
>
You nod at Middian.
>
Palcron agrees with Middian.
>
Middian raspily says, "Could form the structure of the house."
>
You say, "This way, the MHO as a whole has structure and it doesn't make everyone feel useless or left out to a degree."
>
Palcron says, "Keep those people happy who complained about the Mist Harbor guild night potential."
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "I know that some people love their home towns, so this is a good way to make that more unique for them."
>
Palcron nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "Tentacles from the whole."
>
You nod.
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "Next up, the boring simple rules."
>
You say, "Rules: While the MHO Itself is pretty lax of rules, I do want to stress a few points considering the overall nature of this MHO and a few things I expect members to uphold to."
>
You say, "1) Not everyone may wish to RP as being known to be in the MHO. Not every rogue likes their business being publicaly known, I for one am usually one of those rogues. This means that not everyone may like to be "outed" as being in the guild, be it by name or persona."
>
Palcron chuckles.
>
Palcron says, "That's actually a pretty interesting angle."
>
Palcron nods to you.
>
Middian raspily says, "Indeed."
>
You say, "And the same, if other Rogues wish to have nicknames for example to remain somewhat anonymous, that is fine by me."
>
Middian raspily says, "Well played sir."
>
Middian applauds.
>
Middian blinks.
>
Middian lets loose a wild yowl of laughter.
>
Middian applauds.
>
You say, "Anyhow, let's continue on."
>
Middian nods.
>
You exclaim, "With that being said, please do not simply state out in public that "X Person is also in the shadow's visage"..Since they perhaps may wish their identity to be kept a secret. However some people won't mind being known to be in our MHO, but please first ask for permission before doing so to make sure. Remember, while the MHO will be public knowledge to everyone, some of our members may wish to not be public to the outside!"
>
Palcron says, "Your search for the morphing stuff is making a whole lot more sense now."
>
Palcron chuckles.
>
Palcron says, "Ugh lag."
>
Palcron mutters under his breath.
>
You nod at Palcron.
>
You snicker.
>
Speaking to Palcron, you say, "I just do not have shoes."
>
You sigh.
>
Middian blinks.
>
You say, "2) There will be no toleration of others mocking others within the MHO or putting others down due to their choice of RP and mocking the MHO itself. RP is just that, Roleplay. Everyone will have different views as to what a rogue is or should be, and not everyone will Roleplay one possibly to your liking. So please bare this in mind and let them play their character how they see fit."
>
You say, "The # 1 goal of this MHO is to bring fun to the game and to the rogue profession. If in any case, anyone is harassed outside or inside the MHO, I will deal with it swiftly. While we are a rogueish MHO, we do not stand for any sort of harassment both in game and out of game. So be sure to take other's feelings into consideration when "Roleplaying". Our main goal here is to spread enjoyment through out while having fun ourselves in the way we RP our characters."
>
You exclaim, "3) Have fun and encourage others to do the same! Follow all the above rules and please bring any issues, concerns or opinions to my attention! My door is always open!"
>
You ask, "Any questions on the rules?"
>
Middian raspily says, "Should we add."
>
You listen carefully to Middian.
>
Middian raspily says, "I know some rogues do and do not like how we talk about reps and ranks."
>
Middian raspily asks, "Should there be something about that?"
>
Middian raspily says, "Always a debate."
>
Palcron nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "Meaning having something established in order to avoid conflict."
>
You say, "We can, however that is more of a preference than a rule I'd say. I won't condone someone from saying I need X reps, but we can try to push the idea of utilizing more RP with our members than not."
>
Middian raspily says, "Exactly."
>
Middian raspily says, "Some people take offense."
>
Middian nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "Ok."
>
You say, "I doubt I will make it a rule that you must use this term, however we will also make it known that perhaps we here in the MHO don't like to go by skill rep or rank terminology."
>
Palcron says, "Or the ever present question of the "existant" vs "non-existant" rogue guild."
>
You nod at Palcron.
>
You say, "That is an issue unavoidable, which I wish was not."
>
You chuckle.
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "Due to the fact everyone does RP differently and grasps it all differently."
>
Middian raspily says, "Correct.".
>
Middian sits down.
>
Middian nods.
>
Palcron nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "Which is like a circus event and not rogish."
>
You say, "Next up, contact information."
>
Middian inclines his ear, but doesn't hear anything unusual.
>
You say, "Contact Information: For our enlisted members, I have setup a google groups for everyone to communicate in. This allows us to send out emails to the group address that will reach everyone invited into it, while keeping our conversations private to just the MHO itself. Over time, depending on the success and outcome of members, I will look into possibly getting our very own webpage with php forums if I see a need for it, but until that time the private google group is an excellent source of private yet public conversation for all of our members."
>
Middian raspily says, "Ok."
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "As it stands, there is a plethora of contact methods, IM's, PC Forums and so forth, I am not sure how I feel about our own forums just yet, but the mail group will at least suffice since alot use google."
>
You say, "And even non-google members can still use the email."
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "Our MHO Crest/Image: Each MHO is required to come up with an image for an isignia/badge/crest. As it stands, the one I have gave is the following, and is not set in stone so your input is always helpful."
>
You say, "That should say insignia."
>
Palcron chuckles.
>
You say, "Which I submitted this for ours currently."
>
You say, "A shadowed face with a smeared white handprint across it."
>
Palcron nods.
>
Palcron adopts an agreeable expression.
>
Middian raspily says, "Ok."
>
You say, "It gives off that whole roguely feel to it, without making it seem like we are a band of l33t assassins."
>
Palcron agrees with you.
>
Middian cackles!
>
You say, "As some of our members may not lean that way."
>
Middian raspily says, "Aye want to avoid that."
>
Palcron says, "But we are l33t assassins..."
>
Palcron grins evilly.
>
Middian chuckles.
>
Middian raspily says, "Invite evenone to dinner and posion the food."
>
Middian lets loose a wild yowl of laughter.
>
You say, "Oh and The Shadow's Visage name itself, means basically the shadow's face or face of the shadow."
>
Palcron grins at Middian.
>
Palcron chuckles.
>
You snicker at Middian.
>
Middian raspily says, "We ll see how many people come to our next event."
>
Middian reaches up and polishes the front of one of his steel-capped fangs with the tip of his index finger.
>
You say, "I felt it was appropriate since rogues ARE the face of the shadows in a way of sorts."
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "In Conclusion: The MHO should be a blast for all rogues and non-rogues alike! I hope to accomplish alot of fun things with it and to provide a great alternate source of fun for everyone and maintain appeal to all walks of life. We'll have public events open to everyone, and also hold private events for members only to promote friendly competition within our own walls as well. If I forgot to mention anything or if you have any questions about things mentioned or not mentioned, speak up now."
>
You add, "Questions? Concerns? What ifs?"
>
Palcron says, "I must say, I like the setup."
>
Palcron nods to you.
>
Middian shakes his head.
>
Middian raspily says, "Aye well played sir."
>
Middian raspily says, "We can twink as we go."
>
Palcron says, "Darts and gambling will certainly satisfy the masses."
>
Middian raspily says, "Now we just need the numbers."
>
Palcron says, "As will picking."
>
Middian nods at Palcron.
>
Speaking to Palcron, you say, "I mostly want it to cater to every type of rogue and to still provide some form of public entertainment. If you try to make some crazy MHO for assassin's and thugs, you are slimming down your members."
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "This way, it's almost as if we are capable of having different divisions, such as "Public Service" for those who love helping people with boxes and such."
>
Palcron says, "I think it's a great idea."
>
Palcron says, "I liked it a while back when you first brought it up, and I'm glad to see it coming together."
>
The dim aura fades from around Middian.
>
Middian appears less secure.
>
You say, "All while maintaing the shadow side of things for those who wish it. Granted I will have to be known some being the one kicking it off but the ideas are there for others to stay secret."
>
Palcron nods.
>
Palcron says, "A light and a dark side of the group."
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "And once people start getting into the google group, I'll post more things back and forth and everyone else can use it to do the same.
>
You nod.
>
Palcron says, "But a community of rogues, in general."
>
You ask, "Anything else either of you would like to add?"
>
Palcron nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "No i think that is an excelent start."
>
You say, "There is also no silly initiation fees, or things like that."
>
Middian nods.
>
You say, "Eventually, I would like to get a treasury started and a vault."
>
Palcron nods.
>
Middian raspily says, "Aye would help for events and such."
>
You say, "I myself have an enchanter, along with one or two other interest people so we can do that to help."
>
Palcron says, "Donation basis."
>
You nod.
>
You say, "Indeed."
>
Palcron nods.
>
You say, "I'd love to hold auctions in the form of black market events, in a shady area."
>
Middian raspily asks, "Aye like the old days with the public auctions?"
>
You say, "The items would be normal items donated, but we can put a spin to them while being sold."
>
Palcron says, "Like a gambling hall..."
>
Palcron chuckles.
>
You say, "With little stories."
>
You nod at Palcron.
>
Middian raspily says, "Maybe we could have people sign up and bring 10 items a piece and aution their items off."
>
You say, "Just a twist on public auctions."
>
Palcron says, "Like GEMS did last weekend."
>
Middian nods.
>
Middian raspily asks, "I didnt go to that, is that how they set it up?"
>
You say, "And there will be plans of course for in house events as well, for our members only to participate in, and auctions/raffles."
>
Palcron says, "They had a couple of people auctioning off a ton of stuff."
>
You say, "Being a member, has to have some sort of perk I feel."
>
You nod at Middian.
>
Palcron says, "I'm pretty sure it was all donated by either them alone, or their group as a whole."
>
You say, "We'll stop here, if either of you definitely wishes to join, let me know and we'll head to the guard."
