View Full Version : Is it really that bad?

Alright, heres the situation. I had just finished spelling up for a hunt, even had traded a mage mobilies and shimmers for elementals(in teras mobilies and shimmers are like gold) and was just doing my final checks before i went out to wraiths. Right as I do this a bard who will remain nameless busted their song of power at the statue. The explosion kills something like 10(give or take a few) people. The person who blew everyone else up was not killed, only slightly injured. The person does not offer to replace deeds for those who died.
Now, the question is is it wrong for me to exclude said bard from my casting of colors once everyone is alive again because of his actions? I ask because someone was trying to back the bard and was giving me quite an earful on how it was a mistake. It is not the mistake that pissed me off, it was the bards actions after the mistake that did me in.

All depends on your character... I can easilly see it in a lot of characters personalities to exclude him for a number of reasons.

All depends on how you play your character.
Falgrin would probably make fun of him.. and slit his throat for being so stupid.
My ranger would basically tell him to screw off.
My wizard would probably give him the spells.
My cleric would happily help him in any way he possibly could.

First of all, I commend you for not killing him. A few people would have. As for excluding him? It's your right to do so. You can tell him you won't give him any spells until he practices his singing enough so that the situation will never happen again.
Basically, he is asking you for something after killing you (even accidentally). You owe him nothing. They made the "Group Remove XXXXX" for a reason. This is one of those reasons.

PS - Falgrin pisses off alot of sorcerers in the park.. what a surprise. It's quite entertaining to see them force Falgrin out of their group so he doesn't get any spells.
Do that many people not realize all a rogue (or other good hider) needs to do is hide and stalk them to get the benefit of their spells?
While Falgrin is generally in hiding in 'his' park.. when someone who hates him begins to cast mass spells, he will unhide and join them JUST to see what they will do. Fun fun!!

Ok, is Parkbandit Falgrin and Tayvin? If Tayvin is parkbandit.. is parkbandit SHM? :?:

Tayvin is Suppa Hobbit Mage's PC I believe. Falgrin is obviously one of Park Bandit's PCs.

I would have excluded him.

It means Falgrin greater than Tayvin. Disclaimer: not agreeing or anything just translating.

Falgrin is greater (at everything) than Tayvin.
It's almost like E=MC2

How can you not agree? It's a mathmatical equation that has been proven time and time again to be perfect.
You can also use Tayvin < Falgrin to get the same results.

Now that I think about it... Kesir/Seany Digital ::gazes up:: was in the park one day, and I cast massive guards specificly exculding him.
About a half hour later, I had a little pansy halfling wizard named Vedric chasing me down trying to boil me. He would try to kill me, only to be struck down repeatedly. He just didn't learn... I must have killed him more than a dozen times before one day he finally got yanked by a GM. I never saw Vedric again after that.
My advice to you is try to find out what kind of person it is. If he's Kesir material, then be ready for a war... If not, then just explain your actions.
Sorry PB, I must remain neutral here. Sort of like Switzerland.

I just left it at that, the bard was someone who I have hunted with in the past. We were never really good friends but it was a convenience thing. Sort of like the best friend that lives next door type of deal. It just really pissed me off that he did this when i was fully spelled(for me anyway) and I was under 5k till train.

I was a little dissapointed in his actions, Kithus killed him twice though after that so all's well (but for another reason)
Cat
I would have excluded him as well, and given him a lecture on the carelessness of his singing had it been my wizard. My sorcerer would have killed him for the death as repayment. My cleric would have offered him forgiveness. My empath would have made fun of him, alot. And Ganalon would have just marked him for inventory reduction forever, after sticking a bolt through his eye.

If Satira actually gave out spells, which she rarely does, she wouldn't have given them to him. Reason? He was being an idiot.
I'm sure he didn't mean to do it, but I don't really agree with the actions that followed either. I think it's fine to withhold the spells.

My Sorceress is a very nice person and will often cast not only mass spells, but many others as well for people who ask, but in no way feels any obligation about casting mass spells.
You can exclude any you wish for whatever reason you wish.
It's always a bit better to be able to say why you are excluding them, for example the person being incredibly stupid, but you owe no one any explanation period.

You don't need any excuse to exclude someone. You don't like their race, you don't like their name, their piercings, the clothes they wear, whatever. Tell him to go stick his joint into a stunning skull if he don't like it.

I would have killed the person giving you an earfull and backing up the bards actions. I fucking hate when people jump into a situation that has nothing to do with them. I probably wouldn't have given them spells that day, just to show my char needs to "cool off" before attempting to spell them up again.

And people wonder why I refuse to sit around in busy areas for more then the required time to do what ever it is I'm doing.
