I realize this is still a ways off, but it's a great kickstarter story and hopefully an awesome game from some of the creators of the original Wasteland as well as the first two (best two) Fallout games. The video in the link is pretty entertaining as well.

Hah! I cranked up the volume because I thought I was about to watch the Borderlands 2 trailer. I'm dumb.

Wasteland 2 sounds kewl. I hope it has a cool trailer like Borderlands 2.

Hopefully they can channel the awesome. Original was a trailblazer.

It's available for early access on Steam right now, for $60.

About the price:

Why is this game $60?

We are a Kickstarter-funded project and like many Kickstarter projects had "early beta access" as a reward in several of our higher-priced tier, specifically from the digital $55 tier upwards. Our Steam pricing follows the same logic, as it is unacceptable for us to set a price-point that would be unfair for our backers. The final release price will be lower.

For $60 you get Wasteland 2, early beta access, Wasteland 1, and several digital goodies. If this price-point makes no sense to you, you can purchase a "digital copy" on our late backer store which will provide a Steam (or other digital retailer) key on the game's release http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/store

Playing it right now. I think it's more fun and deeper than Shadowrun Online but it still needs a lot of polishing.

Yeah, picked up the beta key and dug around a bit yesterday. It was pretty neat. I have some issues with the UI and camera that may or may not get polished. Might just require some getting used to.

Other than some control stuff, the actual game is pretty cool. It's the kind of game I feel like I could spent a couple days just making characters to form the perfect party before I even start moving.

It's much better now than early alpha/beta. The development time counted.

I've read it's still pretty buggy.

I've read it's still pretty buggy.

It has some. It runs smoothly now, though, and most of the egregiousness was removed.

I haven't encountered any bugs yet in the first 3-4 hours. Then again, I think I only encountered one or two the whole time I was testing it as well. I don't doubt they're out there, but so far so good. Game is a little overwhelming at first, but excellent overall.

Talk about overwhelming, try the original.

Has anyone played this and Divinity: Original Sin? I couldn't get into that game and worry i'd suffer the same fate if I gave this one a try.

Divinity is another one on my watch list, but I haven't tried it yet. What was it about Divinity that turned you off?

The only thing that's annoying me a bit is that the 'small guns' skill of the Fallout series is divided between assault rifles, pistols, sniper rifles, shotguns, etc.

It was a bit slow to start in terms of story, which so much inconsequential stuff to do that I got bogged down and ultimately got bored. I'm sure it picks up, but it just didn't grab me within an hour or so of playing.

This is making me want to try out Divinity. Which would you pick?

I picked up Divinity, played about 30 minutes and got stuck. It wanted me to use an ability I couldn't find on any action bar or hotkey, which I couldn't advance without. After trying to figure out for about 15 minutes, and then trying again the next day, I finally gave up and haven't turned it back on.

I finally encountered a bug in Wasteland as well, where a character to finish a portion of a mission turned up dead when he wasn't supposed to. Wound up starting over because of it, fairly frustrating.

Would recommend Wasteland over Divinity, but I'm a huge fan of the Fallout series, post-apocalypstic, cyberpunk, etc. Divinity didn't really feel like a full fantasy game, a little to silly. That's not to say Wasteland isn't silly, but it feels like a better fit in the environment.

I still like Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall the best out of all of these.

Wasteland 2 isn't bad though.

Divinity doesn't have a lot of story depth but the elemental combinations can be a hoot. I really detest the lack of item highlighting.

Bought it. Alt button highlighting not sufficient?
