Dwight Howard signs away opt-out clause, completely resolving his free agency issues. He added, "See everyone next year for the same exact situation!"

Lakers add Ramon Sessions, Christian Eyenga, and Jordan Hill. They subtract Fisher, Kapono, Walton, their 1st round pick, Dallas' 1st round pick.
-Eyenga, Kapono, and Walton have played 83, 269, and 65 minutes this season respectively - they are null values for the trade.

-Jordan Hill is a decent player: shoots a good percentage, rebounds well for his minutes. However, he does not have a good perimeter game, and Mike Brown seems intent on forcing his bigs to the perimeter, so his production could decline. He is also a very poor passer.

-Ramon Sessions is also a decent player. However, as mentioned when discussing Rondo, he is not much of a 3pt shooter. He shoots a good percentage, but only 17.5% of his shots are 3s, compared to 30.8% for Fisher and 60.1% for Blake. He has also played best with a 20%+ Usage rate, compared to 13.5% for Fisher and Blake.

-Giving up two draft picks is really troubling. They weren't going to be high draft picks, but still. This is a team desperate for youth and athleticism, and a team that has to at least consider starting to build around Bynum rather than shoring up around Kobe.

Blazers fold their tents, trading away Camby and Wallace and firing the coach. I think they're overreacting, but they didn't have a realistic shot to contend this year anyway, so might as well tank it up. I've always liked Hasheem Thabeet, maybe yet another change in scenery will give him the chance to shine.

As a lakers fan I am happy. Getting Beasley would've been nice, but I'm happy with sessions and Blake running the point. Lakers still lack a guy who can create his own shots in the 2nd team. Beasley would've been nice there

The Wiz-Nuggets-Clips trade... what the hell?

It's awesome for Denver: gets rid of the Nene contract, McGee is going to flourish with a good coach and up tempo style, everybody loves Ronny.

It's terrible for LA: Nick Young is allergic to passing, totally undermines the "hey it's fun to play basketball as a team" vibe Chris Paul brought. Can you imagine him playing next to Butler for any stretch of time? Catastrophically bad.

It's bizarre for the Wizards. Do they think they're going to contend with John Wall and Nene? Cook is expiring but so was Turiaf, and they didn't dump Blatche or Lewis. This trade puts them well over the salary cap with a 9-32 team... really???

It seems lately that deadline deals in the NBA are always off the wall,
