Before I get started on the character I wanted to look into what you might suggest. I've noticed the Landing is a little light on rezzers lately so I thought I'd pitch in to help.

As far as hunting go I'm thinking that Bane for the living and VolnFu for the dead would be a viable path no?

That'd require 1x brawl and shield right?

I plan on being pure but hate the idea of the staff being disarmed.

Is Bane good enough against the undead should I just go CoL? I'm probably planning either Dwarf or DE and as always, I'll be "claiding" it to about 25 so we'll mainly be focusing on what a build would like like around 25-30.

I'm not sure the intricacies of rezzing, chisms and all that so please, if anyone has a guide to it I missed when I was skimming post a link.

Any help is appreciative. Thanks guys

I suppose I could always stick with a hybrid swinging a sanct'd weapon to handle undead as well. I know all the training will be tight so I'm really looking for the most viable hunting path while being able to help out with raises in the landing.

Bane is so mana efficient at lower levels that society, even training doesn't really matter too much. Just make sure you have adequate defenses and throw that 302 at the living. You'll be able to hunt effectively wherever you go.

Of course, the other side of that is you won't really be able to hunt undead too well as you have figured out. A secondary attack like FU/THW great with 301 at those levels.

CM is what would make training tight if you go the THW route. It's your choice whether you want a better AS and maneuver defense getting CM or a better CS through more spells.

1x Armor to 35 ranks (brig)
1x Brawling + 1x Shield OR 1x THW
1x Physical Fitness to Max HP
Harness Power ranks = your level
1x Spirit Mana Control to 24 ranks
2x+ Spell Research, Cleric Base at level (eventually level+20)
1x First Aid to 40 ranks to tend (most) bleeders

Make sure you have 24 ranks of Spirit Mana Control before raising. If you really want to raise at 18 you'll need to double SMC a bit but you'll soon catch up and get those TPs back.

You'll also be able to make (crappy) chrisms at level 48 by just singling Lores -- 15 Summoning, 10 Blessing, 25 Religion. I don't recommend doubling Lores early on because it takes a lot of TPs. Do get those Religion ranks first, they help your offensive spells.

(eventually level+20)+21.

19 = 14 CS
20 = 15 CS
21 = 16 CS
22 = 16 CS

I've always thought that cleric + voln is too much overlap of abilities. Cleric bless / voln bless. 130 / voln fog. For those reasons it is my opinion that CoL or GoS give a cleric more bang for the buck.

I'd probably lean towards CoL then. GoS doesn't really benefit the CS things...but then again, 111 and 306 would benefit wouldn't they? Plus swinging any weapons. Tough choice

As a long term cleric player, I highly recommend CoL, unless you're really into the Voln RP aspect. I'm a bane using cleric who swings THW at 49. I see the THW going away in the next 15 levels or so, and transitioning solely to CS based spells.

AS signs make THW usable, with our low overall AS. Similarly, they make spell aim a viable option, especially on the undead using 306. 306 is extremely powerful against the undead.

DS signs make open handed channeling in offensive possible with 302.

Wracking + CS spells = win. I can hunt forever if I underhunt a bit, and I'm not even built for maximum CS usage. As a half-elf, my spirit regenerates fast enough that it's not an issue.
