i just got back into the rogue guild & started working on some skills, i am now 10 ranks into lock mastery skill & can't seems to figure out what i'm suppose to do...
You have 10 ranks in the Lock Mastery skill.
You need 53 training points to earn your next rank.
The Training Administrator told you to calibrate your calipers out in the field.
You have 7 repetitions remaining to complete this task.
i got some boxes, calibrate the caliper, measured them but can't get any reps outta it, can anyone point me to the right direction?

You have to measure a box, pick it, then calibrate.
I can't remember when exactly you get the rep, though. It's either once you pick a lock and find out that you measured correctly, or once you calibrate the calipers after picking. If it's the latter you may benefit from detuning your calipers before measuring to get reps. I never messed around with this, though.

First measure, then pick the box to get the rep. You have to get a correct measurement for it to count though. Make sure to calibrate your calipers completely first. I'd also recommend using easy boxes. The box difficulty only needs to be about 2/3 of your max with a pick, so find some to open with a copper pick for a better chance at a good caliper read.

waitrt?
sleep 1
fput "stow lockpick"
fput "get my caliper"
fput "lm cali my cali"
sleep 1
waitrt?
That's what my script did for those reps, after measuring/picking the box.
If you have access to a bard, you can totally cheat with these reps by measuring until the lock difficulty description matches. Otherwise, best luck!

hmm what did i do wrong?
my bard sang to it, got the type of lock, then i log in my rogue, try to pick the lock, finally it open but no reps?
here's part of the log:
>loresing trunk I'm listening it's all coming clear;but your purpose is what I'd like to hear
You sing annoyingly:
"Trunk I'm listening it's all coming clear
But your purpose is what I'd like to hear"
Roundtime: 11 sec.
As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the haon trunk in your hand, and you learn something about it...
From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the trunk is as a container of some kind. It has an amazingly intricate lock on it.
>drop trunk
You drop a badly damaged haon trunk.
Rogue log in...
>
lm measure trunk
Using your professional calipers, you carefully begin to measure the lock...
Roundtime changed to 7 seconds.
Roundtime: 12 sec.
>
Measuring carefully, it looks to be an amazingly intricate lock.
>put cali in my pouch
You put a set of professional calipers in your grey lockpick pouch.
>get my lock from my pouch
You remove a twisted vaalin lockpick from in your grey lockpick pouch.
>prep 403
You gesture and invoke the powers of the elements for the Lock Pick Enhancement spell...
Your spell is ready.
>cast
You gesture.
A scintillating light surrounds your hands.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
(Forcing stance down to guarded)
>pick my trunk
You settle into the difficult task of picking the lock.
You make a good attempt (d100=74).
You are not able to pick the trunk, but you get a sense that it has an amazingly intricate lock. About a -970 difficulty lock (in thief-lingo).
Roundtime changed to 12 seconds.
Roundtime: 18 sec.
>
pick my trunk
You settle into the difficult task of picking the lock.
You make a good attempt (d100=75).
You struggle with the trunk. As you do, you get a sense that the trunk has an amazingly intricate lock (-970 thief-lingo difficulty ranking). Then...CLICK! It opens!

1) lm measure
2) pick
3) lm measure again (fairly quickly)
It's easier to get the correct measure with an easy box, btw.

my first attempt on the wedge :)
lm wedge my box
You insert the tip of your wedge just under the lid of your box and carefully work it back and forth until it is firmly seated. You try to jam the thin wooden wedge in further with the palm of your hand but only manage to splinter it as the tip is deflected along the side.
Your wedge takes massive damage!
The lid of an enruned wooden box suddenly splits away from the casing amidst the crunch of splintering wood!
[You have 6 repetitions remaining.]
