Hello.

I'm thinking about getting a new computer, and have failed to notice or read the past three threads in 30 days about getting a new computer.

I pretty much just want the same thing that everyone else wants, but I don't want to be bothered to read someone elses thread.

Please repeat yourself in this thread ad nauseum for my convenience.

Thanks! =)

Will you be going to a big box store and buying whatever they suggest regardless of advice given? Do you plan on taking the side off the case to cool it? Can you count to potato?

I consider myself an expert on computer newbies becoming computer experts. You've taken the first step Ceyrin to becoming an expert at computers, asking completely vague questions and wanting answers.

The next step is to ignore each and every single person trying to help you but act as if you're listening to their advice. I know it sounds strange but trust me. After about a week post specs for a computer that makes it seem like you took all of the advice to heart then about a day later buy a computer that is the exact opposite of what you want and post the specs, basically giving everyone who helped you the finger. You will then need to make modifications to your computer to somewhat bring it up to par with what you want it to do.

About a week after that you will be qualified to give expert computer advice. About another 2-3 weeks after that you will be qualified to give even more advanced computer advice such as taking the side off of your computer to order to cool down the components.

After that it's smooth sailing. You can smugly tell others they have no idea what they are talking about because you've 'read up' on this stuff for almost a whole month now.

Good luck.

Oh, yes. Absolutely. I'm posting from Best Buy right now.

I'm actually investigating not buying a case, that way I can save money, and improve cooling all in one shot.

1..4...7...9...3....6... potato.

I've got a TRS80 with a cassette tape recorder I'll sell you for not so cheap. Does not include UHF adapter.

That's ok. I'll build a UHF adapter from scratch... without the casing so it'll cool better of course.

Just make sure to never, ever, tune that thing in to PBS. PBS is a liberal propaganda machine destroying the minds of your children moreso than the violence broadcasted by the free market.
