just wondering now that its been out a while... how much of a multilayer feel does SWTOR have? how often do people group up just to quest or hunt? pretty much all of the MMO's I've tried since WoW was released felt more like single player games with chat and auction functions then true MMO games.

this a game I tryed to follow for a while really hoping it would be great and just lost interest in after a year or so and still no idea when it was coming.

It has a much better singleplayer feel to it, the MMO aspect completely blows.

People on this board have been playing MMORPGs since the late 90s.

For myself I can say I like that SWTOR is as playable solo as it is social... just like GSIV. Some days I just want to do missions or grind. Other times I am down with an hour or so to group for a heavy duty mission.

SWTOR plays well, IMO, either way. And I am enjoying it immensely.

either way is good, I enjoy the multilayer portions of MMO's. its just recently they have been geared more to the "casual" solo players. So even if you feel like grouping up you can't find a group cause 99% of the game is stupidly easy solo. there are times I'll enjoy running solo but I enjoyed the groups of EQ back in the day alot more. you were able to solo if you were careful, but got much better return for you time if you grouped up for harder critters. I miss being a healer in a crushbone keep group and doin everything I could to keep the group alive when someone messed up and argoed more then we could handle.

its just going to take quite an investment to play as I only have a cheap laptop at the time. is why I'm trying to find out from you all that play before I let myself want to play it to much.

Only way you'll know for sure is if you try it out for yourself. There are some very cool aspects to the game, I will give it that much. I like how each class has their own storyline, fully voiced. Everything else though I can't stand and probably won't stick around past my "free month". Will probably come back when they add some actual endgame content and switch to f2p.

well if it was just the cost of the game I'd buy it and try it... but I'd need to buy a computer to run it also. My cheap laptop does fine for everything I need besides the game, so the computer would only really be used for the game.

Thats the most pathetic thing I've heard all day. "Waa waa waa I cant run Star Wars waa waa waa. I have to get a job. Waa waa waa. My computer sucks. Waa waa waa."

THIS.

I played a scoundrel from release, made it to 42 and cancelled/stopped playing about a week ago. It doesn't feel like an MMO, more like KotOR with a monthly subscription. The worlds are empty due to sharding, and finding a group is a pain in the ass on a medium pop server (I suspect it will be next to impossible after the initial release rush).

I feel if you had written the word 'this' in capitals I would have laughed a bit, not a lot but a bit more than I did.

THIS made me laugh a bit but I would have laughed more if you had written the word "this" in capitals.
