Wondering how bad of a hit my AS would take if I switched from ranged to OHE. Still going to hide. I know it's easier to get the +50 in ranged weapons than it is getting a 10x OHE..

RANGED AS with current training and a 5x bow.
You nock a wooden arrow in your composite bow.
You fire a wooden arrow at a young grass snake!
AS: +172 vs DS: +19 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +14 = +202
... and hit for 44 points of damage!
The grass snake is sliced neatly in two.
Bad angle. The wooden arrow fails to stick in a young grass snake.

OHE AS
124 BASE AS
+18(str)
+8 (cman)
+10(606)
160(not counting weapon enchant)

Is it better ambushing with a OHE than a bow?

Just need some imput to decide which one will be more effective.. Also only plan on going up to brig, BUT I have some nice reinforced leathers now so I don't need to jump to brig ASAP.. I just wear a CP helm and act as though I'm in doubles..

It is personal preference. Just do whatever you feel like doing. If you have a badass bow, go ranged, if you have a badass OHE, go OHE.

I got burnt out on the bow very very fast. Not everyone feels that way. If you like it, stick with it. I love my THW ranger.

Bows 4 Life. Represent, arrow lords on the tracks, yo.

Yeah, something like that. I adore bows.

could I get away with doing a hurler ranger? Never tried it, but I could load up a bag of daggers.. and hurl away.

Hurling is only doable if you have good hurling shit like a bandolier or something. So if you want to try it out, prepare to have a rather large initial investment.

I think that with fixskills and everything else available, there is absolutely no reason not to experiment. Out of the box characters can be extremely difficult, but often are rewarding. Though from what I've heard, hurl could use some serious work. I definitely think if you're looking for something new and exciting, that you should try out different things. Especially if you're still in your 30 days.

yea, I would probably try a bandolier over a returner just because then I won't have to waste cman points training in disarm for defense.
