View Full Version : new warrior help
I am redoing a small warrior I have completely (human, 15 trains) and was curious on any advice or training plans to go with? I want a char fun to play and different than most,(archer maybe?) but I am not going to take him to high in levels. I dont know just going to redo him before I reroll and try a cleric or bard or something.

I know its done to death. But I honestly have an extream blast playing my claid using warrior.
HUGE AS, next to no Defence. Commin back from a hunt missing an arm, wounds all over. Most my blood gone..But I came back damnit!
What is a decent training plan and stat placement for a 2 hand warrior that I will probably stop training around 30-40? I always did weapon/shield claid swinger might be fun

Get a ton of Thrown. Claidhmores have their weighting when they're thrown. That would be unique.
For defensive purposes, if you are going to be swinging around a claid, I highly suggest maxing out your reflexes, as well as being a dodge and CM pure.
Your first maneuver should definately be movement.
Depending on your financial situation, I'd look around for a very lightweight (oldstyle imflass) claid and make quick strike your second maneuver priority.
As unique as it may seem, I greatly advise that you do NOT use claidhmores as a thrown weapon.

How about a 2 pole armers swinger?
With 2 spears, gotta be very unique!
I'll be fucking amused when I see 2 glaes clubs hurled inconspicuously by a TWC/TW hider.

That would hurt actually, Don't those Glaes clubs weighed about 70 lbs each ?

It'd probably blow out your back muscles. IIRC, when it came out, you couldn't throw anything over 5 or 6 pounds without hurting yourself.

I had some fun with Thrown and Healme during the Beta. However, warriors should always be wounded anyway, so I figure no big deal.

Depends on the race. Dwarves and Giants, maybe half-krol as well, can throw heavier stuff.
Oh i've seen claidhmores thrown by some of the lesser humanoid counterparts. That was when it didn't sever their hand 90% of the time.
never seen 2 claids thrown at once though.
ok give me some stat placement and a training plan for a claid swinger that maxes around lets say 35, also how much miu will it take for haste imbeddibles? I have an unlimited supply of them and i want to swing very fast and multi hit alot of things heh, probably wont be getting out of brig either though unless i can max my armor around 20 for maybe chain or haubrek? no clue how many ranks for them now though. i hate numbers so someone give me some stats
If I were you I would ditch MIU.
Get imbedded orb gems, or raisable rods. No TPs wasted on MIU then.
And when you max-out, you'll have enough CM points to 5 rank Qstrike anyway.
-you also don't have to equivocate your armor ranks for the armor you're wearing. Just get wizard strength to get rid of some of that RT

This is a bad choice. You still have maneuver penalty, and you're dependant on others to hunt.
exactally what I was thinking, how many ranks for haubrek now? close to 100?

You swing a ruby-capped scroll-etched claidhmore at an Arachne priest!
AS: +244 vs DS: +182 with AvD: +31 + d100 roll: +36 = +129
... and hit for 43 points of damage!
Left arm ripped from socket at the elbow!
The priest's reinforced shield falls to the ground.
The Arachne priest is stunned!
Roundtime: 5 sec.
(0x claid w/ just COL signs in Hauberk)
He's been swinging in the 200's since before he titled. AS is slow going from there, since most choose doubling in the weapon of choice & CM in the early years.
Not sure if you'd be able to get your swing down to 5 sec being a human, but 6 sec should be doable.

hauberk requires a bonus of 180. I'm not sure how many ranks that is.
I suggest stalking and hiding with ambush if you're not gonna take him to high levels.

That's 80 ranks.

I thought hauberk was 70, and metal breastplate was 80.

They have the same RT mod (9), so they take 170 ranks to train off RT. That's 70 ranks.
here he is......gonna try this out but will still maybe reroll before too long, someone sell me a 1x claid and some nice brig

Plus the fact that strength doesn't lower the added RT you get for being undertrained for you armor anyway.

Will politely disagree with this statement even after I've been immolated in hell.

Ok, well I tried it about a month ago without any thrown skill and my AS was 50 less than it was while I was throwing a dagger.
