I'm looking to move into a new hunting area, but I'm not sure where to go.
Rift is out of the question since it's a major hassle to get into it and no outside spells are allowed in there.

I was thinking about moving to Illy and hunting... whatever is there to hunt.
Not too sure what I would hunt there.
I've asked about Nelamar and most folks say that it's almost to post cap hunting mostly.

I've also been told my armor is more suited to hunting Nelamar because of the lightning resistance I have on it.

I'm built to be a phalanx sort of paladin. I have an AS of 493 without 211 and 215, but with strength and surge running.

Here is my build:
Armor Use..........................| 264 164
Shield Use.........................| 288 188
Combat Maneuvers...................| 217 117
Blunt Weapons......................| 288 188
Multi Opponent Combat..............| 130 35
Physical Fitness...................| 275 175
Dodging............................| 194 94
Arcane Symbols.....................| 126 33
Magic Item Use.....................| 126 33
Harness Power......................| 176 76
Spirit Mana Control................| 105 25
Spiritual Lore - Blessings.........| 105 25
Spiritual Lore - Religion..........| 105 25
Spiritual Lore - Summoning.........| 90 20
Perception.........................| 175 75
Climbing...........................| 140 40
Swimming...........................| 140 40

Spell Lists
Minor Spirit.......................| 20

Spell Lists
Paladin............................| 40

I'll most likely end up leaving the Landing after the storyline is over since there's still some delicious RPA's being handed out from time to time.

Your primary options are the rift and OTF at this point. Nelemar is possible, but if I remember correctly, everything there is over cap, and with the fear, it's going to be difficult at 92. I'm sure someone will chime in and say otherwise, but it all depends on what you consider fun.

If you go to Ta'Illistim, Old Ta'Faendryl is where you'd have to hunt. In there are ithzir of various professions, constructs, griffins and a few other things. It's a spell burst area, so your magical skills are going to be a factor in how many outside spells you can wear before you're bursted. Bursts sometimes kill, so be ready for that. No player knows the true formula for spellburst, and you'll find many variations of what works for people. I've always followed the formula: total of magical skills/3, rounded down = number of mana of external spells you can wear. So if your total ended up at 10, you could wear up to 10 in outside spells in any duration. An example would be: Wearing 508 and 602 would be 10 mana, though you could stack them to 4 hours without penalty. Tacking on 401 on top of that would burst you. Tacking on 211 would burst you immediately.

The Rift is also an option. If you're not heavy into bounty tasks, it's not that big a deal. People park in the cavern, which is a supernode. It does get to be annoying if you want to turn in tasks, though. The rift is a spell strip area - meaning outside circle spells (except for arcane circle) are stripped from you upon entering and at random.

There's no reason why you can't hunt the rift. It's balanced differently than the other areas and takes into account that people are hunting self-cast only.

Just my opinions.

Dauntless helps against fear, though I am not sure enough at 92 to stop something post-cap from hitting you with the effect.

Just sit in the Rift for a few months and clear up the rest of those levels.
90+ were my all time favourite trains.

You can hit Nelemar at 98 for absolutely no fear and enjoy, since you'll probably be hunting there for the rest of your life.

Nelemar isn't so bad. But the nexus area can be dangerous for anyone...

water elementals are 92, sirens/executioners are like 94.. dissemblers are around the same.

I think you could do fine in Nelemar if you can deal with the Sirens' offensive DS of ~ 500. Not sure what their TD is, but their maneuver defense is pretty weak.

eta: whoever is saying Nelemar is post cap is crazy. Lots of people, myself included, have been pretty successful there starting at level 86 or 87. Takes some time to get a good strategy and learn when to get the fuck out, but I think I was dying in the bowels much more around 80 than Nelemar around 90.

I think you'd do fine in OTF (Ta'Illistim). Sticking to Glory Road or The Plaza (and avoiding OTF west and it's huge swarms), you would stand up against about anything there. The lightning resistance will help as well, against the crystal weapons.

If you do hunt Nelemar, sirens are suckers for 1615 (just be careful if you have lightning flares as they do not react well to water rooms.

Yeah stick to 3rd floor for now

Prolly shoulda included my Deity as well.
I have disruption flares via Eonak so lightning will not be a problem.
I've got Judgement up to 5 targets and my offensive DS is around 440 with a basic mage spellup. (Without 911) Defensive hovers around 690-710 depending on the terrain.

I was very much considering Old Ta'Faendryl since I'm trained for spellburst. Even without Gib's calculator calculations (without the HP, MC, and lore add-ins) I have 22 mana at least to wear. I would most likely like to have a small group (2-3) to help me get to know the area, so as to avoid any untimely deaths. I'm guessing I'm most likely going to be charged or take a nice griffin ferry ride while I'm in OTF, but at least my corpse will have fun. Oh minus the eye eating of course.

OTF will likely be the best fit for now. It is not so bad as long as you don't have very valuable weapons, shields, or enhancives you would like to use. Or trust yourself massively to not die.

Nelemar: At 92 with dauntless you'll behave as if your 95 for fear and only the oldest defenders on the third floor (or ancients) will give you brief fear. With your build defense will not be an issue, though offense may frustrate you.

Dissemblers, sirens, combatants, and defenders will be your main targets at first. Depending on how your attack is radicals may or may not be good sport. Avoid elementals, greater elementals, sentries and magus until later trains or you gain comfort.

Good luck, and you can contact Draithe or Dhairn in game if you would like a tour of nelemar and to hunt with a paladin that will try to convince you to get away from that defensive build!

I've hunted the rift with Svardin before, in which he died due to a room void, and I had to drag him around (frigging 300 some odd pounds) and raised him once we got back into the cavern. I did decently, but it just wasn't a fun place.

For me, it's the fact that it's hard enough to find a rogue and an empath up there. I carry a full supply of herbs on me however. I'm just gonna stop now \whine

I'm just gonna hunt OTF and test my luck there. If anyone wants a meatshield in OTF, I'm your elf.

Good luck with that, I've always used a defensive build and I don't see myself getting away from it anytime soon. Once I hit 95-97 I'll come take a tour in Nelemar.

Defensive build still works pretty well for me.
