View Full Version : SNL 2004 ROCKS
Watching Saturday Night live right now. They had the funniest sketch about Harry Potter. It was all centered around how Hermione grew awesome tits over the summer. Linsday Lohan plays Hermione. :P

I miss SNL with Will Ferral...
Yeah, me too. My favorite bit he did was the Dr. half of the european free-love hot tub couple.
But its still going strong without him. Tina Fey is brilliant and actually kinda hot. She is the first woman on the show to write everything. I don't think she is the first to be the exclusive writer though.
The show has had its ups and downs. Right now, IMO, its up.

The 'Don't fear the reaper' skit has to be one of my favorites.

For '04, Snoop was prolly the best host. Man, when he did the freestyle has the parapalegic in the wheelchair, I almost died laughing.

my personal favorite is the one that garth brooks hosted. the mango skit he did with chris kattan had me rolling. the one where metallica played (shortly after reload was released) is a close second.

I miss the original cast. It's never been that good since as a group though some of the individuals are excellent.

Heh. The Dana Carvey/Mike Myers era to me was the best overall.

Saw Dana Carvey do stand up in Vegas a few weeks ago. He actually didn't suck. I like him because he reminds me of the dudes I used to party with back in high school.

If you consider that cast from the mid-90s, I don't see how you can even argue that any other cast was better:
Myers, Carvey, Sandler, CHRIS FARLEY, Rock, Rob Schneider, Norm McDonald, even Colin Quinn was funny back then.
But by far the best skit SNL has ever done is Celebrity Jeopardy.

Chris Rock is hilarious, but he was not funny on Saturday Night Live.
Rob Schneider was not funny, and carried around Sandler's jock on dumb skits that dumb people found funny.
"You like the juice? The juice is good?"
Farley and Spade were fantastic.
Norm McDonald has never been funny. In any medium. Ever.
Colin Quinn did the news. The news is funny. Shit, Kevin Nealon did the news...
The best news anchor ever was Dennis Miller.
Will Ferrel to me is the greatest cast member ever. You shouldn't have to OD on heroin to win this title.
I think a lot of the show has to do with the ability of the hosts.
Derek Jeter has to rank in the top 5 worst all time.
Walken and Baldwin are the best for me. I understand Steve Martin and some others have hosted like 50 times...
But they never came up with Pete Schweddy's Schweddy Weiners...
or "The Continental", followed by Colonel Angus.

The episode with The Rock was quite possibly my favorite overall episode. NICOTREL WILL OWN YOU.

After the Fear the Reaper skit has to be the centaur Porn skit.
Do I get the job?
No, we don't hire dirty Centaurs.

The skit with Jim Carrey as the lifeguard for the hot tub with Will Ferrell was equally excellent.

You guys are missing the funny women of the SNL 90's! I really think Molly Shannon and Cheri O'Teri were two of the funniest people to ever be on SNL. Way under rated.
edit to correct more grammar.. I've been up since 4:45AM, gimme a break :P

I think the women have always paled in comparison to the men, the exceptions being Tina Fey and Cheri O'Teri.

That's Therapist, Connery.
Can you believe Connery was almost Neo? Imagine.

Agreed. 'I'll take anal bum covers for 200, Alex.'
Definitely one of their best skits.
My favorite, though, will always be Steve Martin's King Tut. Even if technically that's a Steve Martin skit instead of an SNL one.
