I'm still having a problem with this soundcard. It's a PCI card and my motherboard has a PCI express x4 slot. I bought a PCI to PCI x1 slot adaptor and it doesn't seem to be working. The computer is recognizing the card but i'm getting no audio at all. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Try plugging your speakers into it.

Try unmuting your speakers.

Everything is plugged in and unmuted. The card is being detected and is set up with all the latest drivers. When I try playing audio and open up volume mixer it is not detecting any audio levels. I tried using headphones through the headphone jack and a digital speaker through the spdif output.

Do you have the card set as the current audio device? Windows does not automatically make the new card the default device, you need to set it manually. Right click the Sounds icon, select output devices, and make sure your new sound card is the one being used.

Also, you need to configure the output device using the windows soundboard prior to use.

Yes to both.

You using the Omega? That has a removable amp. It is possible that the amp was dislodged. It could also be that your sound card is defective. Have you tried using it on another computer?

The amps seem pretty snug, and no I haven't tried it on another computer, don't have one.
