Could folks with sonic alters, especially armors, post up what they've had done? Looking for some inspirations that have been approved by GMs in the past.
Thankyawww.

You are holding a dark sonic longsword formed from wildly chaotic shadows in your right hand and a radiant swirling barrier formed from motes of white light in your left hand.
I've got a blazing conflagration of spectral flames for armor.

a whirlwind of insubstantial leaves
Hazy scraps of foliage formed of naught but air and mana dance to a whispering, wind-like tune, spiraling wildly about each other. In an unnatural melding of the seasons, leaves ranging in hue from the pale celadon of spring's first greening to the faint gold of autumn's end mix together freely alongside a handful of leaves that shine with the ghostly blue light of the glowbark tree. While each individual leaf is translucent as morning mist, the many overlapping layers render the whirlwind nearly opaque.
a tenuous pale ivory and green hatchet
Waves of sonic energy shiver through air, shaping a tenuous hatchet out of little more than mana and music. Rich grains swirl clearly along the ivory haft for a moment before it thins to a mere outline as patches of insubstantiality dance across the weapon, following the rhythm of some unheard melody. Only the edge remains consistently solid, a streak of lambent green that narrows to a razor-thin line.

And this is where the inconsistency of GMs and their alter rules comes into play yet again. I was told my sonic armor had to have the word armor or other acceptable noun in the base so much to my frustration I ended up with:
some ethereal amber-hued body armor (ASG 12) ~ A tight vortex of rapidly swirling air wraps around the body, leaving it suffused with a warm, protective amber glow. Gold and silver motes of light dance amid the currents of moving air, giving the appearance of swarms of tiny honey bees and fireflies busy at work, their movements creating unusual patterns within the eddies.

Are there raffles for sonic armor or how do you get this done?
Are there raffles for sonic armor or how do you get this done?
There are occasionally raffles for it but it's mostly done by merchants. It's a limited and controlled service, less often offered than the general alters and lightening and deepening.

Premie points?
Nope, sadly.

There's an auction for one coming up next week. It's why I'm asking actually!
>a whirlwind of insubstantial leaves
shiiiit son, that's bad ass. Same with yours Kitsun.
I wouldn't have ventured NEARLY this far into the magnificent and fanciful. I thought I'd just get bitch slapped for even suggesting it. But these are exactly what I WANT for my character. I guess we'll see if I manage to pick them up.
Anyone else have some they want to share? They are really beautiful. A good imagination could really ply some excellent imagery into these items.

I can only picture naughty images of Eve with a wardrobe malfunction with the whirlwind of leaves one.

a dark ethereal infantry pike - Shifting motes of deep black and cinereous hues spiral and flicker within the hazy confines of the sonic pike's shaft, the motions reminiscent of nothing more than a vaporous igaesha. At one end of the shaft, shimmering caliginous tendrils twist outward from the darkness to form a long blade, providing external form to the riotous sonic chaos within. In a rhythmic but arcane cadence, sparks flicker and die within the blade, leaving only tenebrous after images.
I was going for dark/evil and giving an impression of sentience. I am really happy with what the GM did with the design I originally gave her.
It seems lots of people have pretty neat looking sonic stuff. Here is mine:
tempestuous silver and grey flyssa
Roiling mist turns and churns within an invisible barrier which forms the unseen shell of the long-bladed flyssa. Dark pewter grey hues clash against bright moonlight silver, trapped in an endless battle as the plumes of mist coil about each other. Sanguine misty tendrils curl from the blade occasionally, spiraling briefly before winking out of existence.
And this is where the inconsistency of GMs and their alter rules comes into play yet again. I was told my sonic armor had to have the word armor or other acceptable noun in the base so much to my frustration I ended up with:

You got away with it though. It looks great.

Here is a design I've got mostly ready, in case I win a raffle. I was trying to make it look like an occuloth. Suggestions on improvements?
Some tenebrous/shifting battle/armor(or some tenebrous fluid battle armor) – Shifting darkness swirls around the wearer into the form of armor. The liquid-like mass of darkness oscillates between chain-like armor and the visage of an oculoth. Dotting the surface of the black morass like stars in a purely alien sky are hundreds upon hundreds of eyes of every shape and color, each constantly shifting upon the body like a horrible tapestry of writhing worms. Fixed upon the very center of the oculoth form's aqueous body is a massive eye, its iris tinted a deep viridian hue.

Are you using tenebrous here to indicate that it's a dark mass, or that its insubstantial?
Caliginous might be a better descriptor if you're shooting for dark. A dark mist, basically. My even want "some shifting caliginous battle armor", or a shifting dark mist. I think there's another word that's good for describing inky water, but I can't remember it. That might also work, if you want it to look more liquid and less misty?
Otherwise I like the description. Those eyes are creepy.

You are holding **an indistinct aegis wrapped with tendrils of shadow** in your left hand.
You are wearing a note-engraved steel pin, a black shield harness pin, a darkened leather blade harness slung over your shoulder, **a wavering suit of black-plated chain mail enshrouded with trailing streamers of hazy shadow**, a long-sleeved black shirt covered with various straps and buckles, a faded black cape, some heavily scarred black vambraces, some fingerless black plated gloves, a serrated mithril band, a twisted gold ring, a silver-edged black hip-worn case, some fitted black leather pants covered with various straps and buckles, a faded grey hip-satchel, some scratched black greaves, and some thick-soled weathered black boots.

a churning sunset-hued coat
>l at coat
Undulating bright crimson air forms this long-sleeved coat. Tiny motes of sand hued light whorl within the sunrise-hued crimson cloud in a frenzy, reminiscent of a roaring sandstorm. The effect of the frantic windstorm against the bright color resembles crimson-hued dancing flames.
The KP doc for the Sea of Fire was my inspiration for this, GM captured it to my liking. Love sonic alters, I wish they were slightly more attainable.

Well, since I just won the sonic alter this month:
an ethereal glacial pavis
s>look pav
An icy crystalline barrier forms the indistinct exterior of the pavis. It undulates in a slow rhythm, hairline cracks spreading and resealing over the tenebrous surface. Motes of white light crash about within the glacial confines, occasionally bursting into a fine celestial mist before reforming. Swirling eddies of mist loom at the corners of the pavis, and stray wisps occasionally twisting off from the shield before dissipating.

I gave Onetta the base description and she did the show, it captures what I wanted perfectly:
a seething grey thunderhead khopesh
Roiling dark grey clouds clash against a magical barrier to form the shape of a long, wavering khopesh. A greenish tint colors the captured storm clouds, contrasted with near-black and purple undertones. Flashes of light illuminate parts of the khopesh momentarily, as if arcs of lightning are hidden within the tempest.
