Should be 3-0.

Yeah I know. Fluke my ass, Pistons are straight up a better TEAM than the Lakers. Plus the injuries to Malone, Fisher and George will be their downfall.

Yes it should be. We just let that one slip away, after almost stealing it back from the Lakers (remember, we were down by 11).

I didn't figure Soulpiece to be such a Pistons fan in the regard that he knows about the Darko = human victory cigar.

Ideally they'll convincingly win Game 4 and 5 at home and enjoy a nice thorough lockerroom party.

As long as the Lakers dont win ill be happy. Id rather have Saddam and UBL win the championship than the Lakers.

Go Pistons!

I still believe Lakers are a better team. Sit Malone.. his knees makes him useless on offense and useless on defense.

While I would like to see Brown win his first title.. I still believe last night was just what the Lakers needed to get fired up. They got their asses handed to them like they haven't in a long time.

Lakers in 7

It's not so much that I'm a huge diehard Pistons fan. I'm just sick of all the Lakers this, Lakers in 4, Kobe and Shaq are unstoppable, bla bla bla. The Pistons are a better TEAM flat out. It would make my day if the Pistons win the series, and don't give the MVP to any individual but the whole team. That would be a big boost to basketball in my opinion.

Completely understandable.. people HATE cheering for the favorite. The Lakers have been the most successful NBA team in the past what.. 20 years? They have the same stigma that the Yankees have. The same the Cowboys and Raiders used to have.

It's much more fun to root for the Underdog.

I wouldn't put them above the bulls of the 90's.

did payton retire before the series?

He is just awful. I actually felt sorry for him last night.

Detroit is just destroying them on boards - and that is about desire as much as anything.

Detroit in 4, err, make that 5

I can't remember seeing a favorite look as bad as the Lakers have in this series...maybe they can come back...but right now it's it's Kobe, Shaq and three corpses.

True... and look at all the people that hated the Bulls at that time.

Defense wins championships... It has been proven right now, it was proven when OSU beat Miami for the national championship... All these highpowered-offense teams don't know how to play defense. You get a team like the stones who can combine both of these, and voila, you have yourself a champion. Now I'm not saying the pistons are going to win. I just think they will based on the fact they have guys who can put the ball in the hoop, guys who can rebound, and guys who will play defense. The lakers have kobe and shaq.

I'd take a group of guys with heart, the desire to win over two huge egos.

You must be from Ohio. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

All that game proved was that officiating can also win championships (the Lakers have proved that, as well). You think if McGahee wasn't hurt, OSU would have stopped Miami from scoring after what some sportswriters have deemed the worst call in the history of officiating?

The Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, NJ Devils...those are all MUCH better examples of "Defense Wins Championships".

I hate the Lakers. Really, I just hate Shaq. I hate how the game is played when Shaq's in there. It can either be called a foul on Shaq or a foul on the defender every time down.

Speaking of which, Willis will be playing for the good old BUFFALO BILLS this year. Booooooooya!

Lakers are Sandbagging. They are getting what they deserve....

Detroit is where I went to highschool. Nice to see them get another quality team, other then the Redwings. Lions are just a lost cause, as long as the Fords own it.....

Yes! I love how fans blame officiating... it's a obstacle as an athlete that you have to overcome, if they were that good, they would have.

I'm sorry, officiating is HORRIBLE.

I can think of one example off the top of my head: The No-Goal by Brett Hull against the Sabres. If they even BOTHERED to review it, it wouldn't of counted, but they were so anxious to give the Cup away in Double OT that they didn't check.

Another example. Before the debacle of the "tuck rule", near the end of the regular season, the Bills played the Patriots. We needed to win to get in the playoffs. I think the Patriots did too. We were up with a minute to go, Tom Brady goes on the game-winning drive. Forget that not only ONCE, but TWICE, the league had to apologize for blown calls in that drive, and acknowledge that the refs were wrong. On a thirty yard completion, the ref who was at the sideline called Troy Brown OUT OF BOUNDS, when the other official came from no where and called him in. CAUGHT ON TAPE were the two officials talking about it, and the latter saying "Let's just give it to him, eh?"

Then, on the last play, a Hail Mary, PASS INTERFERENCE was called on it. A) No one calls pass interference on a Hail Mary, because everyone is going for the ball, and B) everyone was going for the ball. The Patriots got it on the one (game can't end on a defensive foul), scored from the one. In protest, the Bills left the field for the extra point, asshole Patriots, instead of kicking and being good sports, took the 2.

Needless to say, Ralph Wilson (the Bills owner), a longtime opponent of instant replay, was the one who helped push it back in the league, the next year.

One team got beat and they walked off the field before the game was over and you call who a bad sport?

It's just more proof that the only good thing to come out of buffalo is buffalo wings.

Got beat on two bullshit officiating calls that the league later had to apologize for.

And for the last time, they're CHICKEN WINGS, not BUFFALO WINGS.

The score doesn't reflect how bad the Lakers were destroyed. Ben Wallace was all over the place with those rebounds.
