Ever had something happen to you in Gemstone that made you think you were going to die, but by some stroke of luck you didn't?

This happened to me today. I had caught a couple boils somehow from an elder tree spirit (I'm more than 10 levels above them), and had a broken leg. So I go west a few rooms to tend it before I leave, because the RT I get from tending is usually 5 seconds at most, being fully trained in FA. At this point I only had 100 hp left, so a good boil or two would have probably done me in.

[Abandoned Farm, Field]
A fallen apple tree spans a steep, icy ravine, and snow blankets the ground evenly, hiding any and all traces of undergrowth or life. A small boulder pokes its top out of the clean, white snow, as if struggling from being smothered. You also see a rusted pitchfork.
Obvious paths: east

You put a platinum nugget in your imperial-styled greatcloak.

You remove a heavy-bladed spiked vultite waraxe from in your leather weapon harness.
>
A dusky wolfhound saunters in.

You begin to do your best to mend your wound.
After some effort you manage to stop the bleeding.
Roundtime: 120 sec.
>
The cold winds begin to howl with relentless fury, chilling you to the bone!

You say, "Hm."

...wait 110 seconds.

The spirit whispers with a sinister voice carried on the wind!

You say, "Try it. I dare you."

An elder tree spirit does not look as docile as it did just a moment ago.

You sigh.

An elder tree spirit gestures mystically!
A gust of wind tugs at your sleeves. Suddenly, a fierce wind rips through the area, scattering everything in its path and making it difficult to remain standing.
The wind knocks you off your balance and you fall over.
Your arms are forced down to your sides!
Roundtime: 3 sec.
A dusky wolfhound is knocked over by the wind.
The wind then subsides.

An elder tree spirit whistles a soft, malicious tune!

You notice the storm cloud begin to churn rapidly!

A dusky wolfhound scrambles back up onto her feet.

Nice blow to head!
Columbcill looks dazed!
He is stunned!

Flames incinerate right leg to the bone. Not a pleasant sight.

In GS I have had several near death experiences. I almost got splattered by a tree viper on the way to EN. I had a barefoot halfling that tried to walk barefooted to EN and kept getting poisoned in the tree. Um and once I was bleeding to death and thought I had brought my herbs when I boarded the cart ride... made it to town empaths with only 1hp left and lived! Woohoo! Oh and once an invasion started as I came thru the landing town gates. ... .. well I could go on.

Only one really got to me. It was when EN first opened up and you had to find the opening where the toxic fumes are. I nearly died in there trying to find that stupid thing! I think I barely got through with about 2 points of health.

How could you be bleeding on the carts and get to the town? If you're injured, you can't climb down/up the mountain, unless that's only with arm/leg wounds. I can't remember.

I had a near-death experience, followed by a god damn annoying experience. I was going from Zul Logoth to the Landing, saw a nice troll king on the trail, and its roll was just low enough to not kill me. I finally got away and I was too injured to climb the ladder without any money for the cart ride. Klaive had to come, and he smacked the trolls' shit. Took me like 20k in herbs to heal myself down.
