i dont think so. the weighting sold for 25m and who uses mattocks...the weighting should have been put on a perfect maul then it would be worth the bo.

There is only a difference between the two that would be noticeable when swinging it against plate class armor. But this difference in made up against soft leather armors and the DF against everything else is identical.
It is a perfectly fine weapon to use against anything but plate class armor when compared to a maul.
Don't believe the hype that mattocks are worse than mauls. The same thing has been said about battleaxes and one of the better known warriors is swinging that MCW battleaxe with great effectiveness.
I used a high end mattock for quite some time in Nelemar and the results were outstanding.
Anywhoo on with the sale sorry for diversion

There are many more critters with soft armor than there are with plate.
On another note, I would have added HCW to a maul, but the only two I had were 9x perfect and 10x perfect. It had to be 8x or lower.

The weapon is great, don't get me wrong, but if you're using ANY two hander you don't NEED help against soft armor. The difference between kind of dead and really fucking dead is inconsequential, but the difference between dead or stunned, or stunned and unfazed is a bit more quantifiable.
That doesn't make mattocks bad, by any stretch. This is an amazing weapon (well worth the price) and mattocks are still a fine base. Mauls are just slightly better, all other things being equal.

Where I used this weapon was in OTF before I changed to thrown.
Seer: ASG 6
Adept: ASG 6
Initiate: ASG 6
Jannisary: ASG 16
Herald: ASG 11
Scout: ASG 11
Griffin: ASG 12
I stayed away from Constructs because they can not be crit killed anyways. So from what I can tell, a Mattock would be a superior weapon in there regardless if you "need" it or not. It still hits harder against 40% of the creatures in there and hits as hard as a maul against the others, except for the construct.

Which since we are talking OTF. I found this damn amusing.
An Ithzir seer throws a vultite handaxe at you!
AS: +598 vs DS: +558 with AvD: +23 + d100 roll: +79 = +142
... and hits for 5 points of damage!
Weak slash across chest!
Slightly less painful than heartburn.
>'eh...nice try.
You say, "Eh...nice try."
You pull a vultite handaxe gracefully from your harness.
>
With a quick flick of your wrist, you deftly send a vultite handaxe into flight.
You throw a vultite handaxe at an Ithzir seer!
AS: +549 vs DS: +393 with AvD: +31 + d100 roll: +41 = +228
... and hit for 69 points of damage!
Gruesome slash opens the Ithzir seer's forehead!
Grey matter spills forth!
>'thats how its done
You say, "Thats how its done."
AS 598 -That seer had a damn good try though.

Mattocks are a second faster than mauls, unless I'm mistaken. Can't check this second.
