New Bard

I've never played a Bard before but always wanted to try one out but I don't really know anything about there play style so I was weighing my options, I'm having trouble deciding between a Voln Fu or a pure casting Brad. I'd like to see training plans for both and maybe some info on how each one performs throughout life. On a side note I'm interested in how instruments work, I've read they benefit spell like 1001 1020 and 1030 but at what cost? Are instruments considered weapons or are you basically channeling with 2 open handing in offensive stance? And is there a command to see my skill with a particular instrument?


I'd also like to know is any spell songs can be used at the same time like Sonic Shield Song (1009) in conjunction with Song of Sonic Disruption (1030)? I know you can't have something like Fortitude Song (1003) active with Kai's Triumph Song (1007) but I thought (hoped) there may be some exceptions?

Have you played the bard yet? Have you read krakiipedia yet? You have some very strange ideas.

Start with going through the "bard base" article and spell articles. Then read the "instrument learning" article. Tons of training plans are posted here. The "pure bard log" thread has a lot of info. Also, the "runestaff and instrument" thread (very recent) has info you might find useful.

I'm going to impose on you and everyone who plays GS to adopt a reflex (this applies to GS commands and lich scripts). Before you ask any questions, type `<VERB> HELP` or `;<script> help` I'll let you figure out how this applies to learning how well you can PLAY an instrument.
