Staying in forum without being booted out

Is it a design feature of the forum that after a certain period of inactivity you get booted out or a default setting that can be adjusted to meet the needs of the user?

I just use the checkbox for "remember me" upon signing in if I don't want a session timeout. But that's only when I'm signing into my "Kranar" account.
