I bought this hauberk, and it sings at +20, it's vultite, so that's the natural enchant, but it has an enchanter's glyph. It won't take a potion, and it doesn't appear to have any enhancives or padding.
You tap a dwarven forged vultite hauberk, which is in your right hand.
Anyone have any ideas?

I bet its old item. The base is probably steel and a GM just enchanted to 4x and just changed the description to vultite
Why it isnt accepting the potion is strange.. unless you are not using the correct potion.

It is old, it isn't a changed description, it sold like that.

K>inspect haub
You carefully inspect your forged vultite hauberk.
Your careful inspection of a dwarven forged vultite hauberk allows you to conclude that it is chain armor that covers the torso, arms, legs, neck, and head.
You determine that you could wear the hauberk around your chest. The hauberk appears to serve some purpose.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of steel.

It is indeed old enough to be made of steel.
I don't think he's using the wrong potion. He's pretty good at enchanting.
And 405 gives us this:
You gesture at a dwarven forged vultite hauberk.
The essence swirls as it flows in a fog of chaotic patterns around the hauberk. You can't make any sense from the patterns.

What potion are you using?

He said he tried all of them, including sarmoth. (I know nothing about enchanting, this is all coming from him.)

Dirtokh should work fine... By sarmoth I assume you mean sarmoc. No idea... Check the AI crystal I guess. If you had it sung to and there sin't anything there who knows... Assist for it I suppose.

You know what, he probably has another major enchant project.

What I mean is that some items from merchant events were sold as 4x vultite but inspect as steel. I can only assume that the GM when making the item took steel armor made it 4x with enchanting and then just changed the description to match the enchant.

I got an "Oh." when I brought that up. We may have found the answer.

Yep, I got it off the shelf like that. And I'm pretty sure I never really used it either.
EG 2004 actually.
Great memory.
