i've been doing
2x armor
2x THW
2x Harness Power
1x CM
1x PF
1x Paladin.
Stopping Physical Fitness since my HP is maxed out. Armor will stop at 130-150 ranks.
Suggestion on current training and future training?

Go down to 1x Harness Power.
Keep 1xing Physical Fitness.
Get at least 1x Dodging.
Put any extra points into Armor Use, Combat Maneuvers, Dodging, or Physical Fitness.

So drop my Harness power down to 1x from now on or remove half the trains i have in it now?
Add some swimming and stop when it along with climbing reaches 40 ranks.
Get 5 ranks of MOC.
Definitely drop Harness Power down to 1x and think about skipping a level for spells to use those points for lores.
Agreed with 1x PF and 1x Dodge for life.
Otherwise it looks tight.
You've already spent the points for harness power so leave the ranks and pick them up again when you catch up in levels.
Incase you are wondering why you're being told to continue with physical fitness even though you have capped your hit points, there are a ton of hidden benefits from this skill. Keep it up.
I'm interested to know what you were going for with the stats. Do they provide more TPs this way?
Because they're going to hurt at cap. If you get there of course.

I came back after not playing for 6 years. Kinda decided to just go for it without doing research, worst case i buy a fixstat at cap.
I'll stop harness power for now and pick up CM/Dodge. Also i'm on my migration period so i can fix my skills whenever.
Why 5 ranks in MOC? seems pointless to get 5 ranks.

Unfocused double swing at 5 ranks. It's up to you whether you think that's pointless or not.

I'd personally leave the Climbing & Swimming at 20 each, getting back to them later (around level 70 or 80, depending where you want to hunt).
Also, personally, I'd also drop Harness Power down to 1x, to get all those TP's back... which could be a lot more useful in AU, Dodging, more MOC, or lores (I believe Spirit Lore - Religion is the one most people go for). But, really, it's up to you, and how much mana (those extra 25 ranks being worth only 25 mana) you want and use actively.

FYI, all my characters can get to the rift with 30 climb and 25 swim.
You'll need a lot more if you want to hunt Nelemar on Teras.

The only lore skill I would be in a rush to get for a new paladin is 35 ranks of religion lore, it makes killing stuff a breeze when you setup with either 1615 or 1630. As mentioned you'll want to keep training in PT, even though you're at capped health you'll still need more PT ranks for redux and protection against certain attacks.

I will most certainly be keeping Physical Fitness now that i know about it having hidden benefits. As for setting up with 1615/1630, i find myself pretty low on mana while hunting due to spelling myself up so i generally dont use 1615 (i dont have 1630 yet). I swing a claidhmore so killing things so far has been pretty easy.
Again i thank you all for the input and would love anymore you have to give :)

you might not use 1615/1630 now, but you will later on, alot. The one thing you can't see is if it forces the target to kneel, it induces rt as well. Something along the lines of 10-15 seconds.
I would just start adding lore in as you go so by the time you hit your 50-60s you'll have 25 ranks of religion.

I think your new plan looks just about as good as it can get. Without shield/pole for offensive Cmans, the 1x CM shouldn't be much of an issue for a good long while. You will probably need to bring it up once you stop on either spells or armor, unless you end up with a build that uses spells as your only real knockdown skill. If you want to stick with THW forever, I would suggest doing exactly that. Finding a way to stay near to 1x spells and sneaking in 25 ranks of religion lore by level 60 or so would be nice.
I hear you on the low mana thing. I have been lucky and found a couple of usable mana recovery items along with adding it to my AG badge. Its really helpful.
Anyone know if there is a way to see a stat on mana recovery?

After taking everyones advice into account i'm now looking like this
Glaves (at level 28), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:
Skill Name | Current Current
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use..........................| 176 76
Combat Maneuvers...................| 117 29
Two-Handed Weapons.................| 160 60
Multi Opponent Combat..............| 25 5

Dodging............................| 117 29
Harness Power......................| 117 29
Spiritual Lore - Religion..........| 30 6
Climbing...........................| 90 20
Swimming...........................| 50 10
Spell Lists
Paladin............................| 29
Training Points: 95 Phy 21 Mnt
(Use SKILLS BASE to display unmodified ranks and goals)
2x armor, 2x thw, 1x cm, 1x phys, 1x dodge, 1x harnes, 1x relgion (going for 25 ranks then putting MOC to 30 tanks), 1x spell, building climb/swim with left overs.
I am very much so more bad ass! thank you all. Still have one question though, on cmans.
I have wspec 1 claidmore, and looking at others they dont seem that greats, i'm leaning on the +CML DS or Physical DS, Any suggestions on that?

Your training is on par for a THW build. Not much to change there.
I would recommend (as you don't need 1635) or MnS spells till 60+ really..
Get CMAN FEINT Rank 4
Get RELIGION Lore to 25 ranks (caps forced kneel/+7 or so on Zealot if you run that build)
Get 10+ ranks in MIU
Get 10+ ranks in Mana share
Rest is yours to play around with.
Once you hit 140/150 Armor use.. I'd suggest getting PF up to 2x. Others would say push those points to CM. CM IMO adds to AS (as even most our CMANS are AS based boosters), which we don't need till much later. But REDUX, especially as a 2HW user is vital.
Take it for what you will and have fun.

Might seem like a dumb question but why the 10 ranks in MIU?
I was planning to get to 103 for the added 10 DS, Relgion to 25 ranks, then was gonna work on blessings for some more DS and work on Combat maneuvers, getting up to double PF sounds like a solid plan though for sure.
I also dont find myself using zealot much as when i do i get my ass kicked cause of the huge -DS, any suggestion on a more zealot based approach?
Again i appreciate all the insight and information you've all given me, its really made my paladin pretty badass.

In order:
10 ranks MIU use lets you use haste imbeds and lesser spells. But most importantly haste reliably.
Moving up to 103 is fine.
Zealot hunting (which I do all the time) is pretty straight forward. The more religion lore you get the higher the AS bonus and less of a DS hit. At 55 ranks religion you are at +40 AS/ -20 DS. That is where I plan to stop myself, but currently at 30 ranks for now and will worry about the other 25 later on.
Once I'm done with Armor training to 150 ranks, all points will be pushed over to getting PF and CM up to as close 2x as I can, with emphasis on PF for higher redux (as I stopped at 30 spells).

Also a little interesting thing I find with Zealot.. at 55 ranks and +40 AS/-20 DS.. if I really want to .. just run 102.. no DS loss and a +20 AS gain. A little boost with no negative.

Never thought about running 102 with zealot, thats actually a good idea! Haste/spells are not a problem because i have my brothers wizard fallowing me around hasting me constantly. :)
I'll post my current stats/skills in another level or two and see about some feedback on my progress.
Again i'm really thankful for all the input and advice!

Remember, for every 2 spell ranks you know above 102, you'll be getting an additional +1 and -1 on DS and AS, respectively.
God damn game balance! D:

One last thing, I'd work on getting MOC to 30 ranks for dual strike on one target by 50 or so. Nice option to have after force kneeling or knocking them over.

you should train 1635 way before you consider going beyond 25 relgion, MIU, Share, or 2x cm.
Remember that paladin spell ranks give you bonuses to alot of paladin spells as well.
Glaves
12-06-2011, 02:14 AM
Yeah i'll probably end up getting the ranks for 1635 after 103 then i was either gonna work up my MoC or start doubling up the CM.
Also, any suggestion on when or if i should 2x harness power? i seem to have a pretty piss poor mana pool and regeneration rate. Between 1605/1618 (assuming i am fully spelled and full mana) and turning on my sigils, i pretty much cant cast anything in combat at all. its not a huge issues right now because i smash shit pretty hard regardless of if its kneeling or not but it would be nice to actually use some spells in combat.

As a Paladin I would recommend never 2x Harness Power. Yea it sucks on mana for awhile, but once you get into the 40's you should be fine. I only cast 1630 when there are 3 or more creatures (or bandits) and leave the rest alone.
Also don't forget Sigil of Power. Very easy fast way to replenish mana if you need. Be sure to run 1607 as it provides a stamina boost for 5 minutes.

Oh yeah, my health regen is pretty dope. 1607 + sigil of mending.
I guess i can wait on a bigger mana pool, 2x harness is alot of points that can be used elsewhere your right.
Shaps
12-06-2011, 07:28 PM
1607 does not only add to health.. it also increases your STAMINA regeneration over a 5 minute period.
SIGIL OF POWER restores mana at a cost of stamina.
