Hello all, relatively new player. I have about a year under my belt back in 2002, but never had a titled character.

I'd like some advice on how my stats and training look before I run out of stat reassignments. Currently Level 9.

I'm wanting a TWC Ambushing Picker.

Stats: Normal (Bonus) ...
Strength (STR):.............. 70 (10)
Constitution (CON):............ 61 (5)
Dexterity (DEX):.............. 79 (19)
Agility (AGL):................ 69 (19)
Discipline (DIS):.............. 77 (8)
Aura (AUR):.............. 72 (11).
Logic (LOG):.............. 73 (11)
Intuition (INT):.............. 85 (17).
Wisdom (WIS):............ 81 (15).
Influence (INF):............... 30 (-5) .
Skills/Ranks:
TWC 22
Armor 6
CMan 15
Edged 22
Ambush 22
PhyFit 9
Dodge 18
ArcSym 2
Disarm 21
PickLock 21
StalkHide 25
Perception 19
Climbing 5
Swimming 1

Much obliged for any/all advice.

Hallahs.

Your stats look decent, but without knowing your race, it's hard to crunch any numbers. But as far as stats go, I would recommend any player to set up their stats so that they will be 100, at cap (you should be able to set it up so that all stats will be 100 but one.). Sure, it's a long term goal, and may very well never happen....but if it does, you'll be kicking yourself when you have to burn 1m bounty points, or spend 45m on a fixstat.

As far as your training goes, it looks pretty spot on. You could cut back on the CM a bit (no less than 1x, though), and put more into armor (should also be 1x, until you reach your desired armor.).

Other than that, it looks good. Pick up 404 at some point, and you'll have no trouble picking all your own boxes.

Half Elf is the race, much appreciate the comments. I know it's only 9 levels, but I wasn't looking for a reroll.

As for armor, I really have no idea on how much to train it, or when to expect a big change. I was looking at brig (currently wearing 2x brig, but going to drop it for double leather).

As for TWC, I've been using a rapier and a foil. I got a nice broadsword, it seems to do the trick, but it kills my rt.

Definitely pic up a set of 4x doubles, you're undertrained for brig currently but perfect for doubles.

A couple more questions,

Will .5 training in FA for skinning be a waste of points? The official site also mentions "as well as the success of properly piercing (PIERCE) another character with piercing jewelry." Does that quote have anything at all to do with hunting? I'm thinking no.

I can use up to x4 through level 20?

No, piercing refers to jewelry you can pierce with.

.5 FA is pretty lousy. My rogue 1xs in FA and Survival, and he still fails every now and then but for the most part does quite well at skinning.

Use that for calculating stats. I must say, I was fooling around with half-elf stats, and have come to the conclusion that I would never make a half-elf rogue, lol.

Another noob question:

A weapon I was shopping for:
a dark blued vultite main gauche with a wrought gold hilt
It imparts a bonus of +20 more than usual.

Krakii says vultite is +20. Does this mean the weapon is +40?

No. It is just +20. One way you can tell is by the 50k price :). If it was +40 the cost would be at least several million.

Same here. Funny that it used to be the absolute go-to mechanically back in the day for rogues.

Except for Scintillion.

Except for Scintillion.

There's a name I haven't heard in a long time! He was the only other "war rogue," other than myself, that I knew of, back in the day.

This isn't always true. You can ask countless victims pre-mark verb.
