View Full Version : Strange issue with viewing the PC

So on my laptop at home, and my desktop at home, both use Windows 7 enterprise and I think it's IE9, whenever I come to the PC and click the "New Posts" shortcut, nothing shows up.
But, if I go to Quick Links, today's posts, it will show many new threads/responses that the New Posts link should show. I have no idea why - at work I can view things fine (and I use IE8 at work) and Windows XP.
I am stumped as to why - anyone have an idea?

It used to do the same to me using IE9.. I now use Chrome and I don't get that anymore.
I get it with IE9 as well.

So it's an IE9 issue, and no one has heard of a solution? I can use Chrome, I have in the past, I just honestly don't do much browsing and IE suites my needs.

Same problem here-- been looking for a fix myself. I notice when I delete my temporary internet files that it then allows me to view todays postings about 65% of the time. I imagine that is has something to do with IE storing a setting or information for the website indicating that all posts have been viewed. But, im lost as how to correct this. Sure make viewing the new posts a pain in the ass while using IE.

Where is the Quick Links button?

The moral of this thread is that IE9 sucks. Get with the program kids! Firefox or Chrome or GTFO!

IE9 is known to be the worst possible internet viewing platform. Not only does it have bugs out the wazoo, it also has some huge security problems.

The solution is easy. Sometimes the best way to fix things that are broken is to replace them; don't use IE regardless of which version it is.
I had no idea people used IE still.
IE is the most compatable with the other software applications that I use.
Firefox sucks.
Google Chrome - eh...
Safari - forced to use it on the iPhone
That's OK Keller. Time marches steadily forward brah.

What does that have to do with anything?

When you log in, SMH, what does it say next to "You last visited"? If it's the same as the current time when you log in, there's your problem.
But, im lost as how to correct this. Sure make viewing the new posts a pain in the ass while using IE.It would be reasonable and prudent to follow the suggestions made in this thread.

IE is my main browser, but I seriously regret upgrading to IE9. It is awful, and I like IE in general. After the "New posts" link broke for me, I started using Maxthon for here. Occasionally it will show nothing under "new posts" but clicking a second time works.
PS. Firefox sucks and Chrome is only cool when it's in Rockmelt form.
