I won this last night and can't enter anymore raffles so I hope it's worth a nice chunk a change.

Anyone know what Zelnorn weapons?

Here's the skinny:

Slender golden zelnorn wakizashi

The tightly folded layers of golden metal that form the blade leave a faint rippled texture on the surface of the weapon. The edge of the blade tapers at a sharp angle, forming a double-sided razor of golden zelnorn. Lengths of black and crimson silk are braided around the handle of the blade, and a downswept pair of hawk's wings form the cross guard. A small inscription is engraved in to the golden metal of the blade.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Common language, it reads:
Wing Guard


After a careful inspection you determine that a slender golden zelnorn wakizashi requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It appears to be a modified short sword.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of zelnorn.

It is free from merchant alteration restrictions.
It can be lightened but only weighs 4 pounds

Zelnorn has the unique property of enhancing attack strength as well as defensive strength.

The metal appears to be identical to steel, as far as weight, strength, and durability are concerned. The makeup of the material is unknown, and the metal cannot be enchanted by normal means. The natural color of the metal is a golden hue, but it can also be dyed any color.

Zelnorn cannot be used by characters incapable of taking on a massive troll king, which is about level 63. The innate abilities are significantly more powerful than standard materials, which is why a higher than normal level restriction applies.

The enchant of the metal in its base state is +10/+10. This natural bonus can be enhanced, but the AS/DS bonuses should always be within one point of one another. It can be enchanted through the premium points system, and when enchanted through this system both the attack strength and defensive strength bonus provided by the item will be increased, each one alternating between +3 and +2 such that the bonus to both AS and DS remains relatively equal. For example, a zelnorn item that was originally +15/+15 and is enchanted once will provide a +18 bonus to AS and a +17 bonus to DS. Enchanted twice, the item will provide a +20 bonus to both AS and DS.

I don't get whats so great about this weapon? +10 AS and +10 DS thats the only ability it has?

If you enchant it fully, to "10x", it yields +25/+25

its also usable as a shield or armor, its not the same as a defender technically

The AS bonus also applies to both weapons if you are a TWC user. So not at all just a defender weapon.

Start it at an MB of 10m and go from there. Less than 10, just keep it, imo.
