Has anyone ever written a "play" as script and then run it in game. It seems like most competent scripters are not big roleplayers, which may be why this isn't a hot topic, but I can envision a pretty fancy show if you had multiple characters running scripts that wait for cues from eachother to move on to their part.

Man I must be bored today.

I can agree with that.

During a costume contest a couple of years ago, I wrote a script to run through my character's performance as Phoen. I think it'd work well enough on a larger scale, as long as you could make sure it didn't run to quickly and could, ideally, be adapted to pause when needed for audience applause or some such.

Just use waitfor mychar triggers in the script. That way, should not accidentally kill the entire script if otherwise doing the shift-esc to pause and resume.

I wrote a script a few years ago that would RP a couple of drunken dwarves in Plat. It could respond to people, it made sure everything spoken was in dwarf, and it would do random belches and shoving eachother, laughing merrily, drinking ale etc.

Can't seem to find it now, but ya.

As a performer in previous Bardfests, I always scripted my performances which frequently included waits and cues from others. It's a pain in the ass to set up though, especially if you're running a script on multiple characters.

I wrote a script like this but I had to delete it to preserve my heterosexuality.

I considered at one point trying to write a script that would make speaking with an accent easier.

Basically parsing a say command and adjusting the string to include accent marks, replace words, etc.

Would just make it easier for me to respond quickly in game. I don't generally want some heavy accent people can't read, but my characters don't always say things the same way I would.

I've scripted presentations once or twice, but nothing too complicated. Just to get the timing down.
