has anyone done any research as to how much to how much this assists the locksmith?
Specifically it says, "the caster's Minor Elemental spell ranks." How much more does it help per Elemental rank above 3? Is there a point of diminishing returns? When is a good time to stop training in Elemental spells? Lets say at cap you can pick a 1320 lock with just 3 spells in Elemental, what could you pick if you had 30 spells of elemental?
I hope I am not being to vague here. And thanks for any responses.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no quantitative understanding of lock/disarm lore bonuses. There's a lich script called 'lockpicks' on the repo which is at least reasonably accurate (for me at least) for calculating max locks/traps with/without lore.
I've never seen anyone mention that as even a fringe benefit to gaining more ranks in MnE. Maybe that gives you an idea how much that bonus is on the back burner for people.
You've got me considering testing it, though.

Locks cap out, at an amount I forget off hand and i am sure Gib will chime in on this at some point to give further clarification.
As a Rogue who had 120 and 430, I never bothered to look at the bonuses that came with it for 403. Most Rogues, who do pick up spells simply for lores, stop at 404 since with 403, 2x picking you can usually get most of your boxes once you reach cap, then it gets a bit tougher with lock mastery included.
If a rogue goes up past 404 simply for spell rank benefits, well he may as well at least go up to 410, if not 430 at that point

Boxes generated from the normal treasure system have a max trap of -480.
Nelemar's max lock is -1435. I'm pretty sure those only come from magus, defenders, and sentries.
OTF's max lock is -1280 from Greater Constructs.
The Rift, scatter excluded, rarely sees locks pushing -1100.
I have no experience with boxes from the scatter.
As far as I know, the max trap ever successfully disarmed is -500, and the max lock the ever successfully picked is something like -1515 or -1525. Gibreficul's max lock is -1485, which came from the Triton invasion when Nelemar opened.
