View Full Version : Allen's Undeliverables?

Update: I have removed the items people have claimed. Everything else is now up for auction. Once, twice, thrice. Will be updated daily.

As most of you are now aware, I recently purchased a character from Allen. I believe that some of the items on the character may be items he sold via auction on here, but never delivered in game. I am working on having the items sung to to verify stats and will post them here as I gather the information. If you previously won one of these items from Allen in an auction here, but never received the item in game, please post a link to the thread and I will honor the price agreed upon. If no one claims these items, I will be auctioning them over the weekend in an effort to collect enough coin to pay for a fixskills potion, since the character did not come with one, as Allen had advertised. If you won something from Allen, but he never delivered, feel free to PM me with the item description and I'll see if I have it.

Thanks!
~Kazner

wow... ok, I'm going to risk being a dick and way off base here...

you joined the board a month ago, you know where to set min. bids for some pretty obscure items, and you format an awful lot like allen's sales. Just saying..

You know, I'm likely wrong, but hell... it looks a certain way.

Y'know that's a good point. I thought it was odd that someone would buy a character and think "Wait a minute...I bet a lot of this stuff was sold before I bought this character. Here I'll just give it away."

But I don't know, looking at the prices on some of these items I just don't see someone ripping a bunch of people off then saying wait a minute! I have about 15 bucks worth of stuff on this character I need to sell first.

Okay okay, 30 dollars worth of stuff.

If there was some awesome item worth 1,000 dollars I would be totally on board with you. But if we're talking about 30 bucks...

Although it does seem strange that Kazner apparently is the only person Allen delivered a character to from that thread.

no, yeah, that would be pretty weak, but say you wanted to make some cash, but not leave a game you are addicted to... what better way to start over with good rep to boot?

and to your point, the only one he actually makes good with is a forum unknown...

I understand the skepticism. I just came back in August after a 4-5 year hiatus. I'd sold my main characters before I left, so I came back starting with a low-level character. My wife and I just bought the cleric Allen was selling just before he vanished. He came with a bunch of stuff I had no idea about. I searched online and on the forums to see what they were and came across Allen's posts here. With all the issues revolving around Allen, I began to realize the items that came on the character he sold me had likely been the same items he had up for auction here and never delivered on. In all honestly, I probably even pawned some half way decent jewelry items at the gemshop before I realized they could be worth something. Rather than pawn the rest or start new auctions, I tried to do what I thought was best for everyone. I contacted some of the previous auction winners to see if they had received the items from Allen and, if not, if they were still interested and then posted the remaining items here in an effort to help me unload so I can hunt, hopefully make a few silver to go towards the fixskills he said this character had but does not, and to give people who had bid on the items a chance to get their items.

If it helps any, I am Kazner's wife IRL. I've been a member here since 2004. I play Chastittee and Lihai, amongst others. His main character was Drazner up until 2003-04 or so. We both reactivated in August. We just purchased the cleric, Neez, from Allen a few weeks ago as a utility character and placed him on my account. Here is the confirmation I received regarding the transfer:

This character has been moved to the new account. Thank you!

We did have several days without word from Allen. I kept in touch with Boora during this time. I don't know how/why we were able to get Neez from Allen while others did not receive their item. We are just trying to do the right thing in getting items to those who won his previous auctions and hadn't received the items that we ended up with, as well as trying to recoup some coin to pay for the fixskills he told us Neez would have but does not.

I was extremely skeptical of this at first, too. The difference in posting style has really started to sway my opinion. It would have to be an EXTREMELY calculated and fairly intelligent move on Allen's part to make his posts sound so different behind a new handle, and uh. Allen just never struck me as that sort of guy.

Let's examine:

Selling a few characters for a friend, this acct with the characters have been closed for a long time so they are definitely unknown and being that they are closed I cannot get the exact info but I know the stat placement on them is decent as he set stats for max at cap 90% of the time and they all have fixskills, nothing special as far as gear.

This is all one sentence. It's definitely not supposed to be, but it totally is.

On the other hand:

I understand the skepticism. I just came back in August after a 4-5 year hiatus. I'd sold my main characters before I left, so I came back starting with a low-level character. Short, concise sentences. A pretty firm grasp of punctuation. Mighty fine post, here. Mighty fine.

It's like Kazner is Ernest Hemingway, and Allen is F. Scott Fitzgerald. [EDIT: This may not be fair to F. Scott Fitzgerald. Allen may be a bit more James Joyce.] Except, on the PC, Ernest Hemingway is eloquent, and F. Scott Fitzgerald is probably a drunk.
