Really? 44 bucks for... what?
A handful of merchants that are so packed with people you don't get anything done?
Poll: Think the EG price is too high?

In all my years playing this game I have never once felt the events were worth the money.

Seems like quite a bit, but unlike Mobius, I have never felt like I didn't get my money's worth at a GS pay event.
I guess I don’t really since I keep paying for them. Its about the cost of one month of prime.
I would never pay for more than one char though. THATS CRAZY TALK>
It does seem a bit more than I'd prefer. Last year there were lots of merchants who weren't especially packed as I managed to get quick a lot of stuff from it.

You really have to try to not get work done at EG.
You're obviously going to have a harder time getting the limited services/items like the briar flares last year, permablesses this year, etc. But if you don't get a bunch of GLAD and random other things like the enhancive stripping, spell recharging was common, adjustable sheath unlocking, etc. it's your own fault.

Turning crumbly enhancives non-crumbly was my favorite service last year. I think I got 3 or 4 things done.

I won't say if it was or wasn't worth the money until after. Generally they have been.

Last EG the only merchants that worked hard were Dawe/J-something. (right next to the entrance.)
There were some games and such, but G.L.A.D. were few and far between. It was the lightest merchant-working event I have attended in some time.
BACK: $44 is 3 months worth of prime, not 1.

You're out of your fucking mind. What did you show up for 10 minutes and get pissed people weren't handing you shit in appreciation of your mere presence?
I was FAR from one of the most worked on people and i...
max light/deep 3 containers
max lightened 2 sets of fusion full plate (almost max, the second is maybe 1 lighten off)
spiked both of the above sets
two altered adjustable sheaths (chose alter over unlock)
could have easily had enhancives made non-crumbly (but had nothing to work on)
could easily have had elemental or spirtual items recharged (again, nothing to work on)
That's not even trying for all the foofoo stuff like working on dresses or picnic baskets and such I have no interest in.
General alters were slightly harder to come by than previous years but still plentiful, most merchants were doing that merchants "thing" or lighten/deepen to keep things moving faster.
I wasn't even there a huge part of the time. So yeah, you're full of shit.

I'd assume that, this year, with the "new" GM crop, general services will be easier to come by, and specialized services less so.
I think it's a completely fair price. Would I like it to be cheaper? Absolutely! But at this price you won't see a bunch of level 0 characters standing around getting services, which is a good thing in and of itself.
EG is a great chance once a year to go full-on GS geek. Load up on Code Red Mountain Dew, get some Cracker Jacks and some Funjuns. Stock the freezer full of hot pockets and take a few days of vacation from work.

Are you nuts?
Over the course of EG last year I racked up 25 GLADs, Unbalance Flares on a 10x weapon, got a ridiculous amount of unlocks, came in second in a contest and enjoyed some really great RP with some of the merchants. And this was on the one character I attended with. Either you were sitting in the wrong places, talking to the wrong people or just completely oblivious.
Honestly, I think you just enjoy complaining about everything. If you find the price so distasteful perhaps you should forgo the event.

The last time I went to EG I crashed my car right at the start and was in traction for the rest of the event. I logged on a few times all hopped up on goof balls to watch the screen scroll, winced and cringed a little, then logged and fell back asleep. That was 4 years ago.

In the end only once have I been disappointed with spending the money for a pay event, and that was extremely extenuating circumstances obviously.

Sorry, I meant Premium. Blargh!
I feel EG is worth it. I have always had lots of work and lots of fun. Of course, I make it a point to be in game as much as possible during that week.

He said that we all merrily entertain random farm animals whilst simultaneously acquiring intimate knowledge of both an immature buffalo and a pitching wedge. At least that's what I construed from his comment.
40 bucks? Yikes, I don't think I'll be going this year. Also in the past couldn't you bring as many characters from 1 account that you wanted?

I can barely read anything you post with that marching band girl gif in your sig and most often I never get past it if there are more posts.

Nope, except that time when they had it for free.

I'd say that the price would be fair...if the GMs that were actually doing the work saw even a few dollars out of it. Which they don't. So no.

funnily enough i've no problem with the price...I actually think that if you can devote the time to participate in games, wait for merchants, enjoy the social interaction etc etc, then it's actually 'just' reasonable. However, therein lies my problem. I'm a Brit playing a game where most of the best stuff happens while I am sleeping. (yeah I know..my choice.) It hit home when I missed some reasonable invasion storylines on Kharam Dzu and I suddenly thought: "why should I pay to miss potentially interesting events at EG?"
This is the first year i've not rushed out to buy a ticket.
Flexibility on the need to be 'awake' for raffles would have swung it for me to be perfectly honest. I may wait and get feeback on this matter from Platinum subscribers and make a more informed decision about attending then.
But my specific gripes withstanding, I dont have too many problems with the price.
You're not doing it right Bremerial.
You're supposed to stock up on Space Raiders, Coke and pistachio nuts.
Throw on the entire Southpark back catalogue and just ride it out.
Sleep during the day and work during the night till like, 3pm.
Repeat that shit.

Haha
Getting slightly too old for that now. But who knows. I may just give it one last college try.
For me it will be: (All on GMT time)
Go to bed at 5am and wake up at 7am
Go to work until 5pm - sneaking out for 1 hour lunch to see if any merchants arrived.
Ignore family and by 5:20pm back in lands hunting out raffles set up
Stalk merchants until 12:30am
Grab a fast shower - hell forget the shower. Just apply some baby wipes. Don't want to miss anything.
Blearly eyed stay awake somehow, zombie like between 1 - 3am as raffles reach resolution.
Wander around grounds for another two hours then go to sleep.
Wake up at 5am and repeat cycle
haha - just don't have the stamina for that anymore.
One solution is to book my US vacations to coincide with EG then stay in the Las Vegas room with wi fi connection. Too zealous?:help:

Well after this week I'll have more of an opinion on this years fest. If I think of it I'll toss some kinda info up towards the start of Prime's run.

Well I've managed to wangle some days off work for next week. Not many but enough to make going viable now. I can stay awake a little longer into the night. May get a ticket during the week.
:)
We can see who bails out of the epic marathon first :D
