Just came back from a long break, and I think my sorcerer definitely needs some tweaking.

I have an active Fixskills, so any and all of this can be changed. My skills current skills are:

What are your thoughts? Demonology lore is for back-story and RP, but isn't used much yet. She'll likely never use animates, so I' fine with reducing or dropping necromancy altogether. Elemental lores can easily be reduced, but how far? I'd like to change her spell aiming to 2x, but I could be swayed either way.

What about other skills like climbing and swimming, first aid, and perception?

She's in Voln, so no wracking or other handy symbols.

In short, um, help?

There are several threads where various opinions on sorcery are fettered out.

MOC, 10 ranks gets you one FoF offset and splash benefits from 111. I would drop it all.

Your magic skills are all fine if you are using a runestaff. 1x in those is good and well.

Climbing/swimming. Personal choices here, depending on where you hunt. 25 or so climbing/swimming is plenty until you get to cap areas with a few exceptions.

First aid/Survival. Again personal choice, mainly for AG tasks. Since you are voln FA might be nice for tending wounds.

I'd suggest getting 20 ranks above level in sorcerer circle for the 15 CS you will gain. And I generally would not go above 0.66 in the other circles until you are near cap.

2x spell aiming is something I used until near cap, then I switched to 1x. I found focused aiming and the rare bolt to be nice additions. If you want to bolt things you should consider keeping 20 summoning lore for the web bolt, which is a really nice addition to your bolting repertoire. Also helps with 111 damage, and as a volner being able to use wizard wands will help with lost mana from no wracking.

I personally would suggest dropping most lore, with the possible exception of necromancy to 0.6x or so if you would like to use pain on targets. Forced hard RT is pretty awesome. The elemental lores are really niche and generally speaking not worth the cost. Of course if you want to use demons for RP or fringe benefits, keep your demonology where it suits you. However you don't need any demonology to summon demons.

Get rid of your elemental lores, not worth the points. Also, ditch necromancy, and keep demonology. 2x spell aim or none, and 1x physical fitness.

I'm feeling lazy, but I think what would make the biggest immediate difference is if you dump a lot of that junk (lores, moc, first aid and whatever else it takes), and pick up 425 and 430.

That's my beastly, boring build. It's all about CS. I got my 20 demon lore ranks so I can 740 with a single group member, no other reason. That pool of TPs is there because of the PF migration.... I'll probably dump those points into MIU, or EMC/SMC ranks when those PF ranks migrate down.

In a sorcerer's world... all those "extra" skills are just that, extra, and they detract from your real power, which is your CS. Max out spells ASAP. Have 75 minor elemental ranks at level 75 for the full 425 bonus. Keep minor spirit spells at 2/3 your level (round up).

That's my advice, take it with a grain of salt. (Basically, if you don't like what I'm saying, ignore it and do what you want, but know your CS will be lower than it could be.)
