Normal tents

Auction-quality tents: Reduced RT to stand and fold (5 seconds rather than 10), increased capacity (4 rather than 2), and invulnerability to critters.

Normal-quality tents: 10 sec stand and fold, 2 capacity, and NPCs can kick it's ass.

My question is; So what is the benfit for a normal tent. Does it count as a node or is the only benefit is to protect from elements?

It is purely an RP tool. If you RP that it protects from the rain, then it does.
