Just used prem points to enchant my plate from 7X-8X. Cost was 3400. Posting here in case people wanted to know.

How'd you manage an 1100 point discount?

isn't 3400 the base cost without the fusion surcharge?

well the base cost for 7-8x on vanllia armor is like 3120 with the new prices, so that's a roughly 300 PP surcharge for the fusion?

that...would be awesome.

Base cost for enchants with starting enchants of +16 to +45 is (1200 + (400 * (current plus - 11) / 5))

(1200+(400*(35-11)/5))= 3120

surcharge section:
Enchanting, Flaring, or Padding an Enhancive item costs the amount currently shown above, plus: ((Cost for Adv. Guild to Recharge item) * New Plus of item)/250

(x*40)/250

3400-3120 = 280
280 = (x*40)/250
280*250 = 40x
(280*250)/40 = x
x = 1750

double checking:
((1750) * 40)/250 = 280

so either fusion has some flat arbitrary sucharge, or the "base" recharge for empty fusion is 1750?

Fusion items are supposed to be treated as having a 9000 point recharge cost. So the surcharge on an 8x enchant is (9000*40)/250=1440 for a 4560 total cost.

I definitely paid the full surcharge taking my no-dachi up to 10x, so sounds like you lucked out.

^^ Honestly I had done this calculation just the other day for my own planning and got the same answer.

My question about this is does the surcharge apply if you wanted to have an elemental flare added to your item.

What I find annoying is that the base PP enchant cost is based upon the current plus of the weapon, but the enhancive surcharge cost is based on the future plus of the weapon, after the enchant.

Unless I fucked it up (always possible) the costs should go like this:

+20 -> 25 : (1920 + 900) = 2820
+25 -> 30 : (2320 + 1080) = 3400
+30 -> 35 : (2720 + 1260) = 3980
+35 -> 40 : (3120 + 1440) = 4560
+40 -> 45 : (3520 + 1620) = 5140
+45 -> 50 : (3920 + 1800) = 5720
