When you have a critter in a garrote, can your team members attack them? If so, do they take a hit on defense since they are dealing with the neck tie?

I don't think there are very many people who use garrote. I can think of one rogue off the top of my head.

I've mostly seen it used against players or kobolds for shits and giggles. I have heard that bearhug gives a significant drop to DS, I imagine garrote is similar.

I had a char that bearhuged awhile back. I'm not sure of the mechanics but id did have a nice drop in DS. I assumed that it considered the critter to be bound but it might be a thing of its own.

Alright, I guess I will report back on how this works out. I just wanted to see if it aided fellow group members by lowering the critters DS when neck tied.

I'm pretty sure YOUR defense is fubared while garroting.

that is also the same as when your bearhugging someone. stuck in offensive till they are crushed to death or someone kills them, but it could still be a hell of alotta fun for RP.

While a critter is being garroted, the creature's stance is offensive as well as considered immobilized. Problem is...I think you are as well. It's not exactly the best of maneuvers to be used on the battlefield due to your hands having to be wielding a wire/sock/scarf/belt and your other hand emptied. I suppose it works well if you're helping someone hunt.

you can stance to defensive if you are quick in between rounds. Can also vanish, but you get knocked out of hiding next round.
You can go stance defense while you are garroting, you can sneak the command in between moments of roundtime. I believe this will improve your evade chance. I wonder how a brawler would do garroting, anyone of those exist?
