This game looks amazing. So many great games coming out all in the span of a few months. Check out this trailer if you haven't already. Music by A Perfect Circle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5BKs-SGsDA

Anyone going to be picking this up tonight/tomorrow?

I'll be picking it up tomorrow after work or maybe tomorrow morning and calling out sick. running a fever today so its not to unbelievable. been looking forward to this game for a long time. when I first started following it, it seamed like fallout3(one of the best games I ever played) meets borderlands(another game that was pretty good though the paper/comic like graphics bugged me).
looking at some of the trailers I seen the game looks alot closer to borderlands then I thought when I ordered the game, though the game looks alot better. still lookin forward to this bigtime.

well after playing it for a day.
i'm disappointed at the lack of char customization. there is no levels no skills to train in like i had thought there would be.
the free upgrade to the anarchy edition is all but useless, it doesnt; take long before you get better stuff. the shotgun is quickly replaced with a combat shotgun. the fists were usefull for the first little bit. no sooner you gain access to the ratrod buggy you get a better car. the armor in the game is not really armor, its more your class. combat engineer(not sure what effect ti really plays on crafting cause its fairly limited but its usefull) then one that gets you a small discount at shops. the elite armor does all 3.
but if you look past that, its a pretty good game. i like the look of it, the car battles/races are alot of fun. the game play is pretty good.its fairly open to exploring, though you do have to do the storyline to gain access to other areas.
not what I was expecting when the gameshop told me it was like borderlands meets fallout3, but in itself its a great game.

Borderlands 2 looks like it'll be sweet.

I suppose the only point of exploration is to find better gear, then? (story aside)

well there really is no better gear... I guess the only point of exploring is exploring. might get you some ammo or some cash to buy better gear with. the guns are a standard collection and you get them from the story, though I did get the combat shotgun early from the shop.
its a decent game. on normal it don't take to much thought. have a feeling I'm going to be beating it today if not with in the next hour or two. stomach still killin me and still running a fever so I called out sick again.
i think its a good game still. could habe been a great game with more work. like skills or more items.

yep game over. not sure if its worth the 60 bucks to buy it but its defentaly a game that should be rented.
I'd say the main storyline is around 8 hours to complete on normal. my play time was 12 hours to beat it but I spent a good bit of time racing and upgradign the cars that was not really needed. and hunting down bandit cars to get upgrades when the races were over. spent atleast 2 hours with the game on pause talking to my ex also, not sure if that is counted as playtime though.
decent game, the game play and graphics were good, but the lack of depth to the game is a real downfall. hard to believe I was waiting for months all excited to play this game and its done so fast. anyways its a fun game, but rent it don't buy it.
thinking about trying to go thru it again on hard. most games these days are long enough that on normal I lose interest long before the game is beaten.

I just beat this tonight on Hard mode. I went through the entire final level using a pistol and the "fat mamma" rounds, never fired the BFG or found a single critter that required me to use it. Anti-climatic does not even come close to describing the experience.

I heard the last board was TERRIBLE. I'm almost tempted to wait for DLC to "fix" the game, as i'm sure it is coming with the universal panning of the final act.

I bought this when it first came out and finished it the next day. The levels and enemies are pretty cool but they padded quite a bit of content with side missions that have you go back through levels you already completed. Definitely a rental.

The gigantic mutant you see int he game trailer appears half-way through the game and is the toughest critter you face (and he was not really that tough). Although, I did have some trouble with man vs. armored vehicle section at the end running through the ravine. It seems like they really got focused on Rage 2 and forgot to put a real ending in this one.
I did a lot of the side missions, but I got bored towards the end and didn't complete all the sewers. Honestly I just got tired of looking for the entrances.

I really enjoyed the Jackal canyon level, and the combination of a shooter and a driver game, but beyond that I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.
Edit: Just finished it on "hard" difficulty. I basically sprinted thru the last level not caring about cover or loot. Wiped em out.
So many things mediocre about this game despite the great graphics.
Levels that you have to replay twice each, instead of getting new maps or levels.
No character or vehicle customization, it's all the same upgrade tree.
Not enough bosses.
Too much ammo laying around. Even if you can avoid the impulse to be a loot hound you're not likely to run out of ammo, even if you don't buy any.

I'm about 5 hours in and am enjoying the game quite a bit. I started on hard so it wouldn't be a walk in the park the first time around. The graphics are the best i've seen, but it damn well should be for a 30 gig 3 disk install. Still, if I get 20 hours or so out if it I feel I will get my money's worth.

if you go slow enough you could get 20 hours. do all the job board missions, those were annoying as hell to me so I skipped em

I'm not a good sniper when playing on a console and it looked like most of the job board missions were to sit and protect people by sniping.
