a wickedly spiked battle maul

7x (+35), perfect forging, max lightened, blessable, altered with show

MB: 18 mil
BO: 25 mil

Show:
The battered state of this maul suggests a long history of war and destruction. Forged from a solid billet of holy white ora, the massive head of this formidable weapon was formed in a multi-angular design and is covered with mithril spikes protruding in every direction. Its reinforced shaft has been wrapped with thick urglaes bands inscribed with ancient symbols of Gosaena.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the spiked battle maul in your hand, and you learn something about it...

The first thing that strikes you about the maul is the weight, which is about 4 pounds.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the spiked battle maul. You sense that this is some type of holy item. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the maul is as some type of weapon. It has been forged by a member of the Artisan's Guild.

It has a bonus of +35 from a normal maul, and the way it vibrates in tune with your voice tells you that it requires skill in twohanded weapons to use effectively. It also has many more uses of some kind of special ability. The maul has a significantly increased effectiveness in combat.

The harmonics generated tell you that the maul has been temporarily blessed to help fight the undead.

You analyze your spiked battle maul and sense that the item is free from merchant alteration restrictions. You can tell that the maul is as light as it can get.

After a careful inspection you determine that a wickedly spiked battle maul requires skill in twohanded weapons to use effectively. It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of white ora.

Crafted from white ora, but not sanctified? Shouldn't that be fixed? Might make more coin off of it..

My guess is if it's blessable, then the original sanctification (if it really is forged from white ora) has been stripped. Would also have made enchanting much less difficult.

I wasn't aware that sanctification could be stripped from a metal that's inherently sanctified though..

It's just a flag, like any other attribute... the last few updates made it easier for merchants to offer the service, but any staff merchant with the knowledge (& access) could do it.

I didn't mean that it wasn't mechanically possible, but I thought it wasn't a "legal" modification. Not that that means anything.

That's actually a forging bug, I believe. It's not meant to be white ora, and it's not sanctified.

Hey Brute...this is one of your previous mauls. It was 6x when I bought it from you and I had it enchanted by a wizard to 7x...and fancied it up a bit. It has been white ora ever since I've owned it and the merchant that gave it the show basically confirmed it was white ora because I used it very specifically in the description..."Forged from a solid billet of holy white ora." Also, other white ora pieces I have had sung to in the past gave this same line..."You sense that this is some type of holy item." Can that mean it is sanctified?

Wow. I have no memory of ever having a white ora maul. Wouldn't be the first time I overlooked something though.

To clear this up, here is the short version of what the GM told me...
He traced the history and said "You are right in that it is not sanctified. Apparently, this was originally a player forged weapon. It did not come out of the forging process as sancted. Unfortunately, though... because it has since been player-enchanted several times... it is not something we can fix. (because...)The additional potions were not used and the additional difficulty was not added. It is white ora, it just isn't sanctified. A bit of an anomaly."

So somebody buy this anomaly!

I think your price is a little steep TBH.
