You know, I was down for whatever retaliation happened. As a player, I felt AWFUL for the way things happened. It was tragic and horrible. But the retaliation was handled with zero class whatsoever. Yeah, Danno killed Pewds. Yeah it seemed like it came out of left field. Yes, I know you just finished a tedious spellup and finally recovered mana. Hell, I was only in that treehouse getting mana and spirit back to help you with your bounty. It was unfortunate that Danno misunderstood the play fighting between Pewds and Laeli. It was unfortunate that Pewds didn't notice Danno getting skittish and shooting him the warning glance. It was unfortunate that Danno killed a guy he considered a friend simply because he THINKS he was defending a closer friend. It sucked for you and I was so sorry it happened. SO sorry.

But then that part where you insisted what really bothered you was the deed... and without hesitation I coughed up a deed gem... Why did you ask for me to replace your deed only to turn around and deed me back? One or the other, not both.

Whining for a deed gem, getting it, and then catching me AFK with rapidfire boil, THEN bragging about getting away with the murder scot free because your boils got overlooked by the justice system and THEN to go brag about it here on PC that you rapidfire boiled an AFK character and took 5 shots to do it...

Or is it just me that thinks that's a pretty underhanded and classless way of going about it?

I really hope someone gets it into their head to finally explain to Danno what even happened, too, because he has NO idea what was really happening, or that what he did was wrong even if I know full well. As much as he already distrusts mages, and fears fire, catching him with a bunch of boils has really only reinforced the notion that Pewds was evil, was attacking his friend, and needed killed. I don't even want to log Danno now, because how's he supposed to just 'move on' and assume 'we're square'? The first murder was a misguided attempt to protect a friend. The next one will be a misguided attempt to put down a crazed fire mage who, in the mute kid's eyes, is a threat. WTF else am I supposed to do?

Funny you say that, considering the comment Pewds' player PM'd me calling me an idiot for OOC whispering when I play a mute, even though I don't use OOC whispers to tell people things about Danno that they need to figure out for themselves. I want the roleplay to be what makes people realize Danno doesn't understand basic concepts that they take for granted having been raised among civilization. I've even insisted OOC that to clear this up, maybe someone should EXPLAIN that what he did was wrong. But I guess that makes me a bad roleplayer, for wanting to interact player to player with people while I'm playing a mute. I guess I'm supposed to be a mute too just because I play one.

Well, I aim to try to see this resolved, but I'm not running to GM's for a WARN INTERACT or a REPORT. This mess is unpleasant, but that's the way the story went. Gotta see it through. I just hope somebody gets the smarts to maybe explain to the poor kid what's actually going on. He still thinks Pewds is a threat, even if he WAS friends with him, and even if *I* know better. I think Danno gets locked into his rp to the extent that you're no longer enjoying the game. Okay, so your character would have thought that it was real...but was it worth losing a friend over? And I'm not even saying it's terribly reasonable a reaction. It was brutally unnecessarly, I knew that. The difference is, DANNO didn't.

I didn't really think it necessary or productive to explain the situation to death, but since we're dissecting things, there's a lot that just isn't being considered. Danno's traumas and stigmas with mages. The fact that he TRIED to warn the perceived threat that he was going to do something drastic, but was ignored. The fact that the girl doesn't have to believe that it's a threat for it to actually be a threat. The fact that while technically Sleep isn't a harmful spell in and of itself, there's a reason it's considered a hostile 'attack' spell and needs warding. Because a sleeping target is a helpless one. So by the time the actual killing took place the perceived victim was out like a light and completely helpless. I really don't think it's THAT much of a stretch, given the circumstances and the way things went down.

(whispering under my breath when you killed me doesnt count) I've always thought the role of Danno was a neat one, reminded me of Gau from FFIV, so I would've never insulted you for explaining actions. Now, seeing as Danno is afraid of fire, it would make little sense to kill Pewds for casting sleep at Laelithonel when she constantly casts fire spells to mess with Danno.. Would seem like some sort of retaliation is due there if folks are getting killed for casting sleep nowadays.

It would be pointless for this thread to continue on, as it is stupid that I created it in the first place. Things from this point need to be resolved through RP means before more bad blood is drawn.

As for the airport thing, IMO who the hell knows. Nobody will ever, ever know the solid 100% truth of what happened on that day except those who were there. Is it fucking creepy to consider? Course it is. The world is full of nut jobs.
