Which computer utas best for gs?

So, I'm in need of a new laptop for general computer shit. But will more than likely just watch videos on youtube, or be playing gs. What I need to know is without spending 700$ on s laptop, what it the best laptop for me?

How much RAM do I need to run lich with one character effectively?
I'll probably use windows, which one is best? Xp? Vista? 7?

I know I probably sound like a noob, but I'm guessing you guys would point me into the right direction. Any advice would be good, websites to buy good cheap laptops. Any thing will help. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, it depends on the front end you want to use. Stormfront is a fucking resource hog, especially if your scroll back buffer is set to a high number. It also has a rather inconvenient memory leak that will cause it to freak out on your screen.
