I promised myself I wouldn't watch a single episode this season after the whole debacle last season (we all know Clay should've won). I broke my promise and watched the final episode. What the fuck?

90% of the black women on American Idol have tremendous voices. I'm not even going to contest that. However, they aren't "unique" voices- they all sound the same. None of these women can hold a candle to the likes of Whitney Houston, so what's the point? I'd be just as annoyed if they picked a white girl that sounded like a crappier version of Britney- what's the point?

Pick the one with the unique, identifiable voice, not the one with the same voice as every other singer in the world. That is why I enjoyed World Idol so much. The kid that won had such an amazing and unique voice that he will actually add something to the music community, instead of crappy songs written by the Neptunes and sung sub-Whitney Houston par.

To sum it up, we have enough great voices in music, it is the unique voice that we need to see more of. Boo for Idol.

Clay should have won? He was about as generic as you get. I loved Reuben's voice. His CD is great too.:) Kimberley Locke's single(and CD) is good too.

Kelly Clarkson still kicks the collective behind of all of them. (Although, Tamyra Gray has a CD coming out today too..I don't know, she was great too.)

I personally wish there would be more original people. Blazing, just so you know, the song that Diana and Fantasia sang tonight--that was written by Tamyra Gray from season 1's Idol.

-A, Idol fan..

Yeah...I never said Clay was original, but he did have more range in genre than Ruben. Originality is all I'm asking for.
